Friday, May 20, was a memorable day at Northeast Comprehensive School (NECS) as PTA Executive, in collaboration with the parents and staff hosted a Parent’s Day activity.
Several parents attended school dressed in uniform and went to classes as the everyday student would.
A few parents also played the role of teachers and taught lessons in different classes.
This was all done in an effort to promote parental involvement in the life of their children at the North East Comprehensive School.
This was the first event of its kind and it was successful.
The school is looking forward to making this a yearly event on its calendar as it seeks to foster closer relationships with the parents of students which in turn will help fulfill the school’s mission and vision.
This is indeed a great initiative. Hats off to the organizers. A school with parental support is guaranteed to be a lot more effective than those without. Continue to grow from strength to strength NECS
Out of a school of 600 students, only 6 parents present? And it was a successful day? REALLY?! Kudos to the parents that continue to actively be a part of their children’s school life.
The school has just going down the drain since they changed principals. And it look like its getting worse. Is this their attempt for reconciliation? #FAILED #BringBackTheMilk&TheHoney
That’s a very good initiative. Parents who are involved in their students education act as motivators to their children and their children do much better. Way to go NECS.
Wonderful!
Time all school have some sort of Parent Day. Parental involvement is key!
