Opportunities to study in France

Dominican students now have the opportunity to study in France or any other French speaking country through a newly implemented agreement between the French government and members states of the OECS.

Students can now study on their own or receive scholarships under this new arrangement.

Students who wish to take advantage of the program must possess CXC level grades and are required to pass a French proficiency test which is done at the Alliance Francaise in Roseau.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday afternoon, Director of Alliance Francaise Carole Bogdanovscky, said those who are interested in the program should go to Alliance Francais for assistance. “Every student wishing to study in France can come to Alliance Francaise and receive help for his or her application. Candidates will be given the opportunity to do the proficiency test at the end of February next year,” she said.

The deadline for receipt of applications is January 31st, 2013.

Students may study any subject area including medicine, science and law, according to Bogdanovscky.

Very good dececision Dominica Govt and its affiliates. I am really interested. However, there are a few questions that i would like to ask.. I am a dominican national living abroad, still holds a Dominican passport>> went to school up to the first year in secondary school in Dominica.Would i be eligible? Also, the scholarships that are being given, are they full scholarships providing housing and so on and final question…if one has a child, does that make the person still eligible.
would be good to have the terms /conditions stated…that way can avoid unsuitable applicants.

What a great opportunity! I hope some Dominicans take advantage of it to learn more and obtain a broader idea of the world around them.
