Orion Academy hosts annual Christmas party

Orion Academy held its annual Christmas party and hosted the Alpha Center on December 12, 2016.

The school’s Community Outreach team led by the Vice Principal Ms. Elizabeth Madisetti spearheaded this year’s event.

Students and teachers from the Alpha Center joined students, parents and teachers from Orion Academy on a train ride through the streets of Roseau on the Hibiscus Valley Inn train.

Everyone later assembled at the Botanical Gardens for fun, treats, games and photos with Santa before taking the train ride back to the Alpha Center.

This year marks the 6th year that the school has hosted its annual Christmas party as part of its community outreach program where the Orion Family gives back to the wider community.

The Alpha Center is beloved by Orion Academy especially as the school values equality and believes that all individuals need to have opportunities to be engaged in educational activities in order to reach their full potential. As a school, Orion Academy proudly caters to students with physical disabilities both on campus and through its online platforms.

Orion Academy has hosted the Alpha Center for five out of the six years since establishing their annual Christmas party event. Last year, the Academy hosted the Petite Savanne Primary School, and looks forward to Next year’s Christmas party!

Well done to the teachers and students of Orion Academy for your continued annual efforts in caring for the less fortunate.

I note as usual, the readers of DNO are unable to encourage or praise the Academy for its good deeds. If it was some political mess or propaganda, the comments would be piling up. This is Dominica, never interested in giving credit for the good that is being done in the country, but always quick to slander, degrade people and jump on politics. We are so unkind, selfish, angry, uncaring, unpsupportive and loveless. Do we have love in our hearts?
