On Wednesday, August 31st 2016, the West Coast Cooperative Credit Union awarded Gracelyn Victor of Salisbury, a successful scholar at this year’s National Assessment Exams, a scholarship to attend secondary school for the next five years.
The WCCCU continues to demonstrate good corporate citizenship through its annual award and maintenance of secondary school scholarships to children and wards of members. Each year, the society awards a student on the basis of merit to attend secondary school.
The West Coast secondary scholarship provides for text books, stationery, transportation and payment of examination fees for the scholars’ school life provided she/he performs creditably.
Continuing West Coast scholars, Chalika Vidal, Lanaya Townsend from Salisbury and Grace Vidal from Coulibistrie, who are now into their forth, third and second years at secondary school, also received their text books and stationery for the upcoming school year.
West Coast is indeed proud that it can make education readily available to our youth.
We are also pleased to announce that this is another way in which we add value to the communities that we serve and to the quality of life of our members. We are delighted to have assisted a various families over the years in ensuring that their children are readily equipped in order to perform at their best.
