The Division of Culture presents the Schools Arts Festival 2015 at the Arawak House of Culture from Monday April 20 to Friday April 24, 2015.
Approximately 17 primary schools and 12 secondary schools are expected to participate.
The festival features choirs and choral speech on Monday, solo singers and instrumental ensembles on Tuesday, drama (primary schools) on Wednesday, drama (secondary Schools) on Thursday and dance on Friday. An art and craft exhibition will run all week as part of the festival.
The School Arts Festival showcases the Visual and Performing Arts programmes in schools, develops the talent of students and encourages an appreciation for the arts among the school population and the general public.
The School Arts Festival kicks off this year’s DOMFESTA’s activities.
All events take place at the Arawak House of Culture and begin at 9:00am.
Admission is free and open to the general public.
The School Arts Festival is held every two years.
