Sixty-two graduate from NECS; Kadie Robin is valedictorian

On Thursday June 30th, 2016, sixty two (62) students (33 males and 29 females) graduated from the North East Comprehensive School. The school celebrated its 10th Graduation Ceremony under the theme: “Success is not about conquering mountains, but about your commitment to the climb”.

Present at the ceremony were Honourable Roslyn Paul, Minister for Commerce, Enterprise and Small Business who also represented the Minister for Education and Human Resource Development, Honourable Cassius Darroux, Minister for Kalinago affairs, Honourable Lennox Linton, Parliamentary Representative for the Marigot Constituency, Honourable Ezekiel Bazil, Parliamentary Representative for the Wesley constituency and Officials of the Ministry of Education.

The feature address was delivered by Dr. Kenrick James of Marigot, who advised the graduands to stay committed to God, their families, themselves and their country.

This year’s valedictorian, Kadie Robin of Wesley, also captured prizes for Mathematics, Integrated Science, Principles of Accounts, Principles of Business, EDPM and Social Studies. Chelsea Lawrence of Wesley, the Salutatorian and Student of the Year walked away with prizes for Information Technology, Biology, English Literature, Social Studies, French and Public Speaking.

Most Outstanding Females in Sports-  Sherlika Toussaint, LeneterCadette
Most Outstanding Student Wesley Constituency – Kadie Robin
Most Outstanding Student Marigot Constituency-  Keiana Brown
Most Outstanding Student Salybia Constituency-  Aldon Gage
Most Outstanding Student Calibishie-  Dennis Telemaque

The Principal and staff took the opportunity to recognize the Ms. Lisa James of Marigot, who was awarded “Sports Teacher of the Year – (Sec. Schools)” at this year’s National Sports Awards.  Ms. Kyrna Augustine, the Form 5 Year-Level Head was recognized for her efforts and commitment in the coordination of the ceremony.

The Management and Staff of NECS sincerely wish the Graduating Class of 2016 all the best in their future endeavours as they continue their climb on the ladder towards success and thank the numerous donors to this event.

    DNO please get your facts straight. There is a difference between a medical student and a Doctor (Dr.). that Dr. at the front of one’s name should not be place so loosely. You could get the young man in a lot of trouble by doing so, consequences of misleading the public with wrong information. smh!

    The more this evil DLP regime neglect Marigot and wesley, the more these villages continue to shine…I wish all 62 students well..Sadly most will have to leave the country soon, because the evil gang known as DLP does not know how to create jobs,they don’t know how to keep our human resource on island,neither do they know how to create the enabling environment for the private sector…WELL DONE NECS!!!!
