Ten secondary schools are in the finals of the National Math Power Contest.
The elimination round for secondary schools of the Math Power Contest was held in two categories-lower secondary and upper secondary-at three centers on Thursday.
The results are:
Lower Secondary- 1st -3rd form
Portsmouth Secondary- 50 points
Orion Academy-43 points
Convent High School- 41 points
St. Mary’s Academy-37 points
St. John’s Academy- 26 points
Castle Bruce Secondary School-22 points
Upper Secondary- 4th & 5th forms
North East Comprehensive School- 31 points
St. Mary’s Academy- 26 points
Convent High School- 25 points
Dominica Seventh Day Adventist School-24 points
Dominica Grammar School- 22 points
Pierre Charles Secondary- 18 points
The finals for both primary and secondary schools take place on Thursday May 8, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at the Arawak House of Culture.
The St. Martin Primary School, Newtown Primary School, Colihaut Primary School, St. John’s Primary School, Roseau Primary School and the Roseau Seventh Day Adventist Primary School are also in the finals of the Math Power Contest.
The competition will be carried live via radio.
The National Math Power Contest is sponsored by the National Bank of Dominica Ltd.
