The Dominica Co-operative Societies League (DCSL) has awarded scholarships to two more students as part of its high school program.
The students have been identified as Jaide Laurent, who has been awarded the League’s Joffre Robinson Scholarship, and Lestus Lewis, who received the Sister Alicia Scholarship.
The Joffre Robinson Scholarship is based on merit while the Sister Alicia Scholarship is based on need.
The DCSL said to date 19 Sister Alicia Scholarships and 25 Joffre Robinson Scholarships have been awarded.
In a release, the league said for the academic year 2011/2012 it has spent over $8,000 on its scholarship program with $4,000 being spent this new school year on text books alone.
