The Dominica State College hosts its second edition of its DSC Mas Jamboree today and seven college beauties will hit the stage to compete in the Miss DSC Jamboree 2011 pageant.
The young ladies are secretarial major Ann-Marie Cornelius; Dwannella James who is enrolled in the tourism program; Daina Matthew, an economics and literature major and Jernelle Jno Baptiste who studies biology and information technology.
Terisa Lewis, who majors in architectural technology, Zethra Baron, a psychology major and Normanna Jno Baptiste, who majors in nursing will also compete.
The winner of the pageant will be awarded a scholarship from the DSC which will cover their full tuition as well as gifts and prizes from sponsors.
The intention of the pageant, according to organizers, is to use the DSC as a breeding ground for the national queen pageant.
The pageant will come as part of a grand show which will include a calypso show and band splash.
Michelle Joseph, a contestant in the national queen pageant, is the reigning Miss DSC Mas Jamboree.
The event is organized by the Student’s Services Department of the institution.
