Organizers of the annual Stardom Tent have said that despite the weather they are going ahead with the show tonight and they are “ready.”
The tent, which is being held on The Strip in Lalay Coco, was to have been officially opened last weekend but persistent rain forced the organizers to postpone the event to today January 10.
PRO for the Tent, Davidson “Observer” Victor, speaking to DNO, said, “we are ready and are doing our final touch on the venue and logistics.”
“The band is ready…every artist has had at least two/three practice and the Strip in La LA cocoa is set and ready,” he said.
While expressing some concerns over the weather he said the break in sunshine has helped them to get the venue ready.
“We are going to put a great show and fans and patrons can expect nothing less,” Victor said.
The few things that really matter to 75% of Dominicans are: carnival, sewo, sex and loud music. So I say good luck to you all and enjoy. After carnival back to reality which in most instances means not even a proper roof over their head.
The strip in Lalay Coco is a noise intrusion. Granted it is the festive season. If you live at Wallhouse or Castle Comfort the level of noise coming from that venue is too much sometimes. then you have the calypsonians who have NO mic control and keep shouting at the tops of their voices out of key. The place needs to be sound proofed better or equipment needs to be arranged better to avoid the noise pollution. not everyone likes to drink and party with loud blaring music into the wee hours on the morning. Some of us have children and have jobs to wake up early for in the morning.
Enjoy guys release the Maria stress, laughter is good medicine.
