She was awarded a cheque of five hundred dollars and a Samsung Galaxy S4.  Second place winner, Alisha Ducreay received four hundred dollars and Shirlyn “Sugar S” Dangleben, who placed third, got 300.00 dollars. Janae also awarded her cash winnings from Christopher Dangleben of Stardom management.

Janae, for her part, said she was very happy and thankful for the presentations from Stardom and Stowe. “It’s a form of encouragement for me and since I am a totally different person calypso helps me to express my feelings on stage and I am thankful and love that,” she said.

Dominican before you criticize make a contribution like Duncan!!!!!!!Duncan is one Dominican who is Calypso to the bone. Hi chien mein dit dent blanc….He is a genuine calypso lover…
His agenda is too see calypso grow unlike some whose main aim is to kill calypso with greed and selfishness.
Tell me why Leona could not have been getting a contribution too in addition to what Swinging stars would have given her.I hope she learns from her mistake and don’t let selfish men bring her down while they climbing the ladder.
Duncan kudos… Dominican too the bone. Love you buddy!!!! Who vex burst the ceiling lolooloollll

All well and good. However, it should not be so limited. What about the overall calypsos: the crowd favorites like the China Man, the contoversials, the best presentation, the best written calypso like the Krisbies. Prize for the old faithful, like the Pickies. Tonneh man! What is a mean $3,000, when your pocket is too big for the laundry. One page of a single passport cost close to $10,000.
I am not Against Man and I don’t want to chew your pocket, even when those who don’t have allow me to. I am just a matador.

Come on Dominica the money is not worth the value all you can do better. Read about other countries pay outs to their stars this includes cars etc etc. We need to stop acting like country bookies and malawe, s. My God do we have to present DA as a backward country like that. Pay the musicians, singers, entertainers, expose them tell the world what we have to offer push our music talents everybody getting there we still behind Gods back. As far as I recalled we have moved on from using other peoples road march let us begin to enjoy Dominican goodies and by that raise the monies. PS please do not blaime the PMother people raise funds ie arranging fund raisin dances gigs to start with just a little thought.

Since you have all those brilliant ideas and advice, why don’t you put your money where your mouth is? I wonder how much did you as an individual contribute to the art form, let alone say you will take a page from and individual’s book like Duncan and make a donation to someone.
Stop criticizing and get some work done!
