Recently referred to as the “fast-rising” Breve, this six-member band has been working hard and making strides. This is evident in the band’s release of two new singles; “Welcome ( Island Baby)”; a playful reggae highlighting some of the enjoyable features of life on the Nature Isle, and fan favorite “Way Oh” a song indicative of the band’s signature style, CaribPop.

You can hear these songs and other original Breve music when the band takes the stage on Night 3 of the World Creole Music Festival, October 30, 2016. They are excited about their debut performance where they will introduce their original sound, CaribPop , in which they fuse local rhythms with international pop melodies.

The band is excited about the release of these singles as it allows the public to gain an insight into what Breve is all about. Drummer Kenrick Lawrence refers to Breve as a Caribbean lifestyle band. “We promote the island lifestyle and we sing about the experiences we have as Caribbean people, with family, in relationships, with friends, with yourself, whatever it is. We promote the ideals of island living and our songs reflect our motto of positivity, peace and love.” Lead singer Jade Leatham adds, “ Way Oh , I think, is representative of our musical style and in it we sing our mantra of ‘ music, peace and love’, which is what Breve is all about : great, positive music, peace with our fellow man, and love of God, country and humanity.”

Another major development for Breve is their recent collaboration with Digicel as Brand Ambassadors.

Look out for Breve at the 19th Annual World Creole Music Festival, and take a listen to Welcome (Island Baby) below and Way Oh. Check out their previous singles “Run Away” and “ Party Weekend” as well.

The band wants to send a special thanks to the Lumos String Quartet from Finland for their collaboration on “Way Oh.”
