Contestants of the 2013 Carnival Princess Show and the Teenage Pageant will be launched on Wednesday 16th, January at the Arawak House of Culture.
According to Chief Cultural Officer Raymond Lawrence, the launching is being organised by the Waitukubuli Dancers and the Rotaract Club of Roseau.
“At this event the eight contestants in the carnival princess show and the seven contestants in the Miss Teen Dominica Pageant will make their first public appearance together. Both the teens and the princesses will do a short introduction to the public,” he explained.
Lawrence added that guest performances by Janae Jackson, the Waitukubuli junior and senior dancers, speeches by the two organising committees make up the programme for Wednesday’s activity.
The launch has been done as a collaboration between the two organisations for the past ten years.
The Carnival Princess show which is organised by the Rotaract Club of Roseau, is slated for Sunday 20th January at the Harlem Plaza while the Miss Teen Dominica Pageant organised by the Waitukubuli Dance Theatre, will be held on Sunday 3rd February, 2013 at the Pottersville Savannah.
