The date for the 19th Annual World Creole Music Festival (WCMF) has been announced.

WCMF Promoter Leroy “Wadix” Charles made that announcement at a press conference held at the Dominica Festivals Committee (DFC) office on Tuesday.

“The official date for the 19th World Creole Music Festival is October 30th, 31st and November 1st, once again at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium,” he said. “This year we will be launching the World Creole Music Festival on July 17th and that would be at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium forecourt.”

He revealed that it will be a different type of launch with “two dimensional events.”

Charles stated that the first part of the event will be the official speeches and the actual launching of the bands and the second part will be a major Creole extravaganza.

“A Creole warm-up where we get people ready for this year’s Word Creole Music Festival and we have invited Haitian Compa sensation, Carimi,” he stated.

Additionally, he said, the acts that will perform at this year’s WCMF will be revealed.

People like you always cry down what’s in your own country but will go else where and settle for less. Smh. If you don’t want to hear bouyon then don’t attend the event. Go to Destra’s and Machel’s country to see them. Maybe they’ll take time of their busy schedule and perform for you for free since you’re so special

i think you guys should go back to the drawing board with that WCMF. 19 years and no progress, or no known improvement in the festival except the venue. Saint Lucia Jazz festival putting you guys to shame. Its time for change. Upgrade!

The people wants to know the sucess or none sucess of at least last years W.C.M.F. any entity doing business with its people wants to be transparent with its financies. I`m asking because every W.C.M.F. I visit home and bring approximately 100 tourist and diaspora, I easily as one person spend at least $10,000.00. During our two weeks stay. As a true patriot and all things Dominica, i feel cheated, and taken for granted, not to have the stakes holders, at least tell the Dominican public how we doing with this venture. Am i the only one feeling this way????SMF. personally in view of the above i will hold back untill we the patrons are told how our hard earned $$$$. are being used. I rest! and taking a wait and see attitude.

The dates were not changed. From the very beginning of WCMF under Eddie Toulon it was ALWAYS the LAST WEEKEND in October however that last weekend fell. Duminicans, always making problems out of nothing.
