DFC one contract shy of
complete functionality of 14th WCMF

The Dominica Festival Committee says it is one contract shy of securing complete functionality of the 14th World Creole Music Festival. The Committee presented two more of its partners and service providers for the October 29-31 mega event this morning. The two will manage the imaging of the grounds and its surrounding areas and the video production on and off the grounds.

The only contract left to be inked, according to the DFC Events Director –Natalie Clarke, is that of security. She says discussions are underway to have this aspect of the venue operations secured within short.

“It will be a little different this year in terms of the creative production of the World Creole Music Festival,” Clarke said.

Meanwhile, DFC Vice Chairman Sobers Esprit says the public response to the announcement of the Steel Pulse addition to the festival has been encouraging. “The response locally, regionally and otherwise has been tremendous. There has been a swell of support for the fact that the DFC has been able to secure a legendary group like Steel Pulse for this year’s festival,” he said.

Steel Pulse will rock. I guarantee u that. Ever listened to their live cds? By the way DFC there is nothing on the band’s popular website about their performance in DA. Marketing dept get on the ball. Ms Clarke, I feeling your input and difference already. Thanks.

@ SAD HEART. Steel Pulse and Luciano, in particular are as good or may be better than gospel. Both highly spiritual and (Afro-Centric) eduactional. Just what the doctor ordered for DA right now in these perilious times.

Jah Love my people. See ya at the end of October.

For years now i have been advising Director after Director that the Sunday night of the festival should be Gospel Night headlined by well known artists from overseas and as well as local acts, but it would seem that a white man must come in to tell them the same. At least give the protestants and christians an excuse to be part of the event.

but its sad that just a few weeks away from a major fest and your security aspects arent closed up as yet…hmm its a virus we have contracted we dont plan long in advance wonder why!

those are basic elements that are always in the first menu of planing in any event showbiz wise after you get your artist stuff sorted out the sound reinforcement, light, security are the integral part of the start off…..hope we dont have a bunch of confusement stuff during the event…

FOCUS IS KEY ELEMENT IN SHOWBIZ…
