Dominican artiste releases video in collaboration with Morgan Heritage

devine songzOn Sunday 14th February 2016, Valentine’s Day, recording reggae artiste Julie Christmas, more popularly known as ‘Devine SongZ,’ launched the long-awaited video to the remix of his hit single Many Waters, which features well-renowned Jamaican reggae artist Gramps Morgan of Morgan Heritage.

The launch of the video to this dynamic collaboration, considered to be Devine’s most notable achievement in his music career, took place via social media.

This remix to Many Waters has already captivated the hearts of many Dominicans making it a huge hit on island. Consequently, Devine found it most fitting to launch the video to this single on Valentine’s/ Lovers’ Day. He truly feels that the collaboration with Gramps Morgan is one way to elevate the plateau of music in Dominica. He considers it an avenue to reach a wider audience, and to further trail-blaze a path that other local artists could follow.

Devine has over a decade of experience as a singer, song writer and entertainer that have been garnered from performing at local, regional, and international arenas over the years. The smooth and sultry tones of his voice, coupled with his infectious smile and stage presence
capture the attention of any audience to which he performs.

His stint as lead vocalist of the Caribbean Vybez band proved his determination and resolve, as under his leadership and direction the band quickly rose to prominence on the local scene. Due to their popularity they managed to secure several performance contracts for major events both in Dominica and on various regional stages.

More recently though, Devine has been pursuing a career as a solo artist and apart from local solo performances, he has shared the stage regionally with several prominent international artists including Wayne Wonder, Jah Cure, Christopher Martin, Tyrese, third World, Taurus Riley, and Kassav to name a few.

He is in the process of compiling his debut album, which will feature original tracks covering a number of different musical genres including Reggae, Lovers Rock, RnB and Zouk. Devine is currently completing work on the remaining tracks of this album, which will feature ten full length songs.

The album features music producers such as Dean Pond out of Miami who has worked with reggae legends such as Third World; Cornell Phillip of
Imperial Publishing Dominica, and O’Banga Production in New York.

Besides his demonstrated talent, Devine possesses a genuine drive and a passion to succeed.

Notwithstanding that talent is indeed important, partnered with the qualities of drive and high ambition, gives rise to an individual who has the right attitude for success.
