The annual Fete Isidore celebrations kick off today, Friday, May 13th in San Sauveur.

The villages of Good Hope, San Sauveur and Petite Soufriere observe Fete Isidore, the feast of Farmers named for the Patron Saint of Farmers, St. Isidore.

This year, the activities begin on Friday with an Isidore Warm-up at Jack’s Bar in San Sauveur featuring top local DJS, Athie and D Chino.

Fish Night, to the sounds of the Kubuli Big Truck featuring Dj Snow and EXTASY band from Petite Savanne, is planned for Saturday 14th.

On Sunday May 15th, in an event dubbed the ULTIMATE ISIDORE EXPERIENCE, DJ Flip tha Boss and popular Bouyon Band Triple Kay will feature.

On Pentecost Monday, May 28th, a parade featuring local bands and groups will proceed to High Mass, which will be broadcast live via radio. One elder, Ruthine Alie of Petite Soufriere, who has given long and faithful service to the communities and to the celebration of the Feast of St. Isidore will be honoured.

Eight (8) local farmers who continue to labour in the agriculture industry will also be recognised-Rawle Titre, Ivan Seraphin, Churchill Darroux, Thomas Darroux, Gilford Laurent, Hamlet Seraphin, Augustus Seraphin, Solomon Durand.

Fete Isidore will climax with music from the Bouyon Pioneers WCK.

Proceeds from the activities will go towards the refurbishment of the church building, which is in urgent need of repairs.

I wonder if St. Isidore is sitting in heaven watching down enjoying the sewo or rebuking it. I suspect saints would be rejecting those kind of noisy jams and sweaty partying. Please when you all want to do these things do not do it in the name of the saints. Saints exclude themselves from these worldly activities and live a life of quiet and prayer. This ain’t no wedding feast!
