Why is it that events like pageant has to be so messy or critic. The pageant was open for all interested. I guest the show had to go on with the few that registered.to the organizers continue doing your best and don’t let anything distract your organization, I too is part of pageantry so I know how it can get.

It is surprising to me how many Dominicans are not aware of what is going on around them. Thanks to DNO and the internet for opening the eyes of some people. For too long some of us thought we were the only ones in Dominica. We are not aware that every community (village) in Dominica have carnival. With that comes the village queen, princess, teenage pageants and calypso shows. We should not be surprise when another pageant is announced. Yes there is the national queen show, princess show etc, but life goes on outside of the National pageants and shows that occur in Roseau.

    What is carnival without pageantry?

Is it true that the reignin canival queen miss Ismenie Frederick will not be the one crowning the new miss Kalinago canival queen? It is said that no contact was made to her about the show. No respect for the reigning queen. Its such a Shame. :(

Some people are so seriously naive. Our race is a minority in Dominica. And over time, obviously, mixing will occur. I don’t think you all expect the race to stay pure. BE REALISTIC!!! Stupes. What’s important is that we keep our culture alive.
