Friday Festival Dwivé kicks off WCMF promotion (with photos)

Action at Friday’s Festival Dwivé

Promotion for the 16th edition of the World Creole Music Festival (WCMF) had an  exciting start with the first Friday Festival Dwivé at the beginning of the weekend.

The event began with a parade from the Bay Front in Roseau to the Krazy Kokonuts where patrons were treated to various musical acts and a delightful array of creole foods.

Organizers say the Festival Dwivés will this year have a thematic ring to them, starting with the week-end’s theme on food to be followed by a homage to Jeff Jo on October 5th, Dance theme on October 12th and a DJ Clash and Fashion show on October 19th.

This year’s WCMF runs from October 26 to 28 and will pay homage to musical legend Jeff Joseph.

Below are some photos from the Dwivé.

My two cents… An activity such as this trying to hype up patrons for the festoval should be done on the bayfront…get the entire family involved.. call it the “Festival village” or words to that effect..like an after work lime…The bayfront has a better ambiance so that people like me would come to support the event. It appears that the Creole Festival dwivye lacks the class it desires. Sorry to say.

I totally agree. More space as well. Everyone seem so like titiwi in a pail, in one hole. There should be more venue organisation.

The economy is extremely Terrible the worst since the 1930s in Dominica..

Sorry to say creole in the park is surely a more attractive event…infact the gardens has the Prefect layout for a Festive venture…

Not in a closed in stadium…

maybe they should sit with Lime to find out how come the have the better brains at work…lol
