IN PICTURES: Hurricane Maria memorial concert

There was an impressive crowd at the stadium that grew even larger as the evening progressed while the performances received stellar reviews.

DNO takes a look at the Hurricane Maria memorial concert IN PICTURES:

Plenty Mahjee in the park. Meanwhile roseau is still a bloody mess. money missing, marigot needs a hospital and i could go on and on. But millions spent on one unnecessary event. state and church colluding to spend the money. side with greedy pastors and false prophets still. pass the Goya oil.

Healthy, beautiful Dominicans. Yet, they say Dominicans look unhealthy and miserable. Yet, UWP says to save us from this miserable country. These guys will say anything and do anything to get on Kennedy Street. They know fully well that they will not make it to Downing Street or 16th Street.

I was not happy about the holiday for a function starting at 4p.m. and the potential cost of the event. Gave my share of criticism on that one.

That notwithstanding, the concert was world class and the poignant reminders of where we were on September 19, 2017 as presented by the flash back images and stories were on point!

DNO you were correct and should not have updated your wording on the crowd size if you did. I’m not sure why you feel you have to bow to pressure for your “breath of fresh air” truthful reporting.

I trust that one day all of us as Dominicans would learn that there is a time for everything and we are really doing damage to ourselves when we actively seek to ensure that we do not think positively about anything in our country.

You see, cultivated habits do not disappear easily so even when we will want to try to think positively, the negativity will have become second nature and that is who we will be as a society.

    Grace and peace Dominicans!

One thing I must say, Skerrit understands Dominicans very well. He knows they like sewo and will forget their sorrows for 4 hours if they can be distracted while they drink and be merry. The next day they will beg to meet their basic neede, but that does not seem to matter to them.

Why are human beings so stupid? I am going to pursue a Doctoral Thesis on that question. I think it will be a great contribution to humanity.

Hello and good afternoon my people. Well DNO am disappointed that you didn’t put a caption underneath the photos so we can know who’s in the photo. Many of us born in Dominica but raise somewhere else and we would like to know who’s depicted in the photograph. Anyway God bless sweet Dominica and I wish my people well.

I was made so proud when Roosevelt Skerrit’s son (I don’t know his name) put his hand over his left chest during the reciting of the national anthem. Regrettably, he probably removed his hand because no one else was putting their hand over their chest. I wish him the best in life.

Mr. Skerrit. The bible says do not provoke people. Do you why the bible says that? Tell us where our money is. The CBI housing option you put in an escrow account.

    • September 23, 2019

@Nineteen seventy nine “The bible says do not provoke people.” :?: Can you tell me in what Book, Chapter, and Verse did you read that quote :?:

Because I have been in the Bible for almost 40 years ago and I have never seen such a quote because the doctrines of the Bible is all about what God wants from us; what or who is it that should not provoke “people”?

DNO, thank you for sharing; this is so beautiful! What we need to do in Dominica is to allow the Peace and Joy of God to mesmerize our mind, for we can never have the harmony that is needed among us, as His God-fearing people, without that blessed bliss of Life.

Election propaganda at its best. Skerrit, where is our money? You are not going to get away with it this time, not even if you come up with a weeks holiday and associated ‘celebrations’ with free sewo and chicken wings every day!

    Bumper crowd? 8-O 8-O

    Where?

Ain’t that a bit of an exaggeration re: the crowd size?

ADMIN: Fair point, there have been even larger crowds. The wording was updated.

Aye ‘wonderful’ Admin, :) how are you today?

I wouldn’t even use the word impressive to describe the crowd size considering the techniques used to group people together on the ground & in the stands. However, overhead shots of the crowd revealed sizeable gaps among the gullible who attended.

I think what was TRULY IMPRESSIVE is that the greater percentage of Dominicans on island heeded the call to stay away from that despicable political attempt to play with the name of God Almighty. Even Satan has the ability to quote scripture as seen in the stunt he tried with Jesus in the wilderness.

By the way, can someone tell us why were there so many Bajans involved in-front of and behind-the-scenes of that charade in the park?

Bajan producing, Bajan singers and to top it off a Bajan hosted a supposedly Dominica-related event IN DOMINICA. Ah wha dis?

      Is Dominica a colony of Barbados I ask again? 8-O 8-O 8-O 8-O

      • September 23, 2019

@Channel 1, how do you know all of this, if you, yourself had stayed away from that: “despicable political attempt to play with the name of God Almighty”?

If you call a session of thanksgiving to God, for His blessed guidance and direction after that angry Hurricane Maria, when in your lifetime and for what do you stop to give Him thanks and praise?
