President of the Ital Fest Commission, Silk Asara, has promised that that this year’s Livity Ital Festival, to be held at the Old Mill Cultural Centre on July 2 and 3, will be one well worth attending.

He described the event as a health and wellness activity. “It’s also a music, food, and art festival,” he said.

Asara said that the festival will be held in two parts – an opening ceremony, followed by several discussions and activities.

“First, we will have an opening ceremony, and then basically discussions on health and wellness,” he said. “We will have a doctor or nurse within the society, and a health and wellness person within the herbal association.”

He stated that the festival, first held in 2012, seeks to promote a healthy environment, through example.

“We try to set an environment that is of well-being, where we don’t just talk and explain something, we try to create the environment, and invite the people into that environment, so that they understand,” Asara explained. “And, really, our health and our wellness is based on our environment.”

Natural foods, yoga, and massages, among other treats, will be featured at the event.

Ultimately, Asara and his associates hope to create an eco-community throughout Dominica, funded by proceeds from the festival.

He remarked that Dominica, being the Nature Isle, is very conducive to an environment of health and wellness.

There will be a $15 entrance fee for individuals, and $25 for families.

The festival is expected to begin at 3:00pm.

Very positive vibes…..that idea for a full eco community is an excellent tourism opportunity. Kittitian Hill in St. Kitts has a similar concept. But in Dominica this would be golden……….Best Wishes

YES!!!! Finally an event in the summer that may be worth while. and it is Ital Fest, im hoping there is no alcoholic beverage dominating sponsorship, i want to see only goodness in the foods and drinks and art.

    • Somebody is showing imagination, creativity, and an interest in holistic health. Good food and music are not bad either! Looks like a wholesome atmosphere for the family.

I especially like the natural health and wellness stuff. The more of this the better. Many of us have a lot to learn in this area. Visitors can have fun and yet gain knowledge that is beneficial. If I was here I would want to attend.

Blessings to Silk Asara and his helpers :!:

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Evangelist.

    • For Dominica:

      I agree with you 100%.

I have seen otherwise great events spoiled by the intrusion of things that seem to defeat the whole purpose.

I would attend myself it I was there. Hope nobody is disappointed.

      Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Evangelist.
