As goes the Mainland, so goes the Diaspora! Creole season is upon us and Dominicans in the US are gearing up for the 14th Annual Madam Wob Dwiyet USA Pageant.
The event will be held on Saturday, October 15th, 5:00 pm at 1976 Valley Rd Scotch Plains, New Jersey.
Talented women from around the US will participate in this year’s competition of Culture, Style and Wit for the revered title of Madam Wob Dwiyet USA.
The lovely contestants include Makisha Marshall representing Mero, Georginna George representing Grand Bay, Shemina Abraham representing Roseau, Sherma George representing Salisbury, and Clarissa Sampson representing St Joseph.
This event, hosted by the Dominica Emerald Organization of New Jersey (DEONJ), is the longest running Wob Dwiyet pageant outside of Dominica. It is always a highlight of the Diaspora’s cultural celebrations and this year’s star line-up is no exception.
Dominicans as far as Boston and Virginia are gearing up for this big event. The show features the comedic relief of Jahmal Burnette aka Ma Buttacup of Jingle Jam Entertainment, the musical stylings Bouyon Boss Asa Bantan & Jahlee and an appearance by Tasia Floissac: Miss Dominica 2016.
2015 Pageant Winner Colette Ambo will be passing on her crown to one lucky winner, who will then take up the torch of Madam Wob Dwiyet USA.
The upcoming pageant is particularly exciting because this year’s winner will go on to vie for the title “Madam of Madams North America” in 2018 when winners from Diaspora pageants in the US and Canada will compete for the title. Needless to say, if you’re able to attend, this show is not to be missed!
Organizers are very excited and say this show is shaping up to be the biggest Wob Dwiyet pageant ever held by the organization.
This year’s pageant is sure to be a success, reminding us all that although we may be far from home, we are never too far from our culture.

it have to have some idiotic person to make such a stupid comment. I am part of the organization from Salisbury and i am a true supporter of the UWP. Politics has nothing to do with our group. members of this group do not all support the same party…
Anyway don’t forget we also have the lovely Ti Matadors that will also be modeling in their Wobs as well..
