Reigning Miss Dominica Marcia Baptiste will compete in her first regional pageant in Tortola this weekend.
Baptiste left the island Saturday ahead of the Miss Caribbean World Pageant, which comprises the interview, costume, swimsuit, talent and question and answer segments.
Baptiste, who is from the town of Portsmouth, has emphasized raising awareness of diabetes as her area of focus during her reign.
Meanwhile former Miss Dominica Mara Walter and reigning Miss Caribbean World will crown the next queen at the pageant on March 27.
