No indecent behavior during carnival – DNCW

President of the Dominica National Council on Women (DNCW) Josephine Dublin Prince is encouraging women to guard against indecent behaviors during the Real Mas Celebrations.

Dublin Prince said some women tend to get carried away by the hype during carnival.

“We know that our women love their carnival but we are appealing to them to do whatever they are doing in moderation. The choice of music that they are dancing to, their dress codes and their language as well,” she said.

Dublin Prince said women should also take into consideration that carnival is for only two days.

“You have the rest of your life to live so women please don’t let two days of fun and frolic hinder that,” she said.

use a different approach and stop trying to put a guilty trip on the ppl.

that’s why the level of stress is so high in Dominica, you all are aways trying to make people feel guilty for their decisions.

Madame President, your caution may be well-meaning, but it is an exercise in futility. The very word CARNIVAL speaks to its name! What else is to be expected? It is the Pilate syndrome being recycled every year about this time by those who encourage it, yet hate to see the reflection. The Council must be able to present a more edifying alternative that would allow the woman to appreciate her worth!!

Some of these women really over do it. After all you can enjoy yourself in a moderate manner. And some of you women in top positions we at the bottom of the bracket are looking at you.
