The Dominica Festivals Committee, through the Carnival Development Committee, will host an official media launch of Dominica’s carnival dubbed “The Real Mas” at the Fort Young Hotel this evening.
The organizations are working alongside headline sponsor, telecommunications provider, LIME.
According to a press release, the ceremony will bring a splendid formal opening of the carnival celebrations where patrons will be enlightened about the 2010 carnival season.
The launch will be addressed by government officials, headline sponsor LIME and other associate sponsors, as well as the DFC members.
Guest performers at tonight’s event will include reigning Calypso King Karessah and Daddy Chess.
The event is carded for 6 p.m. at the Fort Young Hotel.
i support ur input 100% ‘lookscene’ ..I remember posting a comment last yr on DNO stating dat people should be given the opportunity atleast 6 mnths in advance to register for costume band or t.shirt band instead..or can have an installment kind of payment plan where the person puts money every mnth until they finish pay for their costumes,,every year is the same old..dats y DA carnival is getting for bad to Worse..having people register just 2 months in advance is gonna lead up to the same old thing(not enough costume bands) The committe really need to re evaluate and start taking ideas from the public cause their ideas don’t seem to be working.
the real mass? wtf is this? so u mean to tell me the comity cant come with something original? every decade we recycle the same campaign. We need new fresh young blood in that comity we need a a change that would improve our mass. That changing Monday and Tuesday thing was a bad idea i hope they don’t use it no more EVER!!.. WE NEED TO CREATE BETTER COSTUMES AND START BAND REGISTRATIONS FOR THE FOLLOWING CARNIVAL EXACTLY 2 DAYS AFTER CARNIVAL TUESDAY..THAT WAY PEOPLE COULD AT LEAST PUT PAYMENTS ON THEIR COSTUME BAND OR TSHIRT BAND AND NOT WAIT THE MONTH OR 2 MONTHS B4 CARNIVAL.. I BET YOU IF DOMINICA HAD BETTER COSTUMES AND REGISTRATIONS FOR THE BANDS WERE 11MONTHS IN ADVANCE MORE PPL WOULD JOIN THESE BANDS.. BE MORE ORGANIZE FOR A CHANGE.. THE FACT Y’ALL RECYCLING THE REAL MASS OVER AND OVER SIGNALING THE SAME OL ISH OVER AND OVER.
