Islandriddimz (IRZ), an online radio station whose main objective is to promote & develop local music and musicians, has aired the second episode of its top five video count down.
The online radio station is owned by young Dominican, Chad George, who says “in 2004 we pioneered video streaming in Dominica and have continued with our promotion efforts ever since”.
George says in January 2012, IRZ embarked on a new project to help in their quest for the development of the music industry and launched the IRZ Top 5 Video Countdown.
“The IRZ Top 5 count downs the 5 most popular music videos from Dominican artist as voted on by the public on our website www.islandriddimz.com/top5 and is aired weekly online”. says George.
“We encountered some difficulties after the taping of the 1st show in January but have since overcome this difficulty” he disclosed.
George said the 2nd episode of the show which can be viewed on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJbKxlzqpvQ, was aired on March 29.

Have you looked at the quality of the show which has been produced? How can you compare “More Sewo” to “IRZ Countdown”? Two different visions….Two very different projects….
Great effort. This is an important project for the local Arts and Entertainment industry. I hope music artistes can make the most of it.

The production value of local music videos has increased a lot over the past year or so. Any opportunity to give these productions more exposure is welcomed!

great initiative chad, young people doing big things for the promotion of music, culture and our creative industries, all the best
that’s a great initiative… mr george is also a former D.G.S student… i think this should be highlighted… our students need more young local role models to look up to…. looking up to certain celebrities just isn’t realistic…
