Alaina Charles has captured the title of Dominica Next Super Model at a competition held at the Windsor Park Stadium on Sunday night.
From the competition the three top models are: Alaina Charles, Mervlyn Defoe and Patrice Dorsette.
The category winners are as follow:
Best Swimwear model-Alaina Charles
Best Runway Model-Alaina Charles
Best High Fashion Model- Alaiana Charles
Best Photo Model-Alisa Labassiere
Best Punk Look-Alisa Labassiere
Best Question &Answer -Mervlyn Defoe

Ridiculous!
This show was of a very low standard this year. Out of 10 it gets a 5 from me. The show lacked guests performances. They were using the audience as gusts performers. From what I saw this year I believe that this show will not survive 5 years. It really needs upgrading.

These photos leave so much to be desired. I do not understand how these are ‘professional photos’ and how this “Neo-Expressions” is proud to place their watermark on these pics.
When everyone in a function looks like they are wearing a mask, it means only one thing. The problem lies with photographer . My phone camera takes better pics. Do they even use airbrushing or any type of photoshop tool. For a ‘super model’ event, the photos should be more appealing than this. This is shameful. Its already bad that the girls are not the most beautiful or shapely bunch but the photos are supposed to make them look much better than they actually do…that is what makes a good photographer…..

I am so disappointed by the image of some of these young ladies. I am very sorry but u are actually seeing their bones buldging out. Is this healthy? Why don’t dominica stick to their culture and bring out the best like in the old days. Dominica has alot to offer than trying to follow the the steps of the usa. Keep dominica culture alive and stop imitating others. When i was a child there was nothing like super model. It was about going to the park and look at plays/ skits e.t.c . I must say it appears to be sickly model.
You should be encouraging the oversized ones to lose weight. Dominica thinks it is healthy to have all that extra size and weight. Fat = looking good. Stop the nonsense and think about health! Being overweight is actually unhealthy. The thin ones are more healthy. I don’t see any looking bulimic or anorexic else that would be another story.

these young ladies are thinking beyond Dominica. they are thinking international. that`s the problem with some of you people you live your lives to only exist in Dominica and nowhere else. there will always be time for Cultural events but what is wrong with looking beyond.
Congrats to the winner of DNSM… I must say i was very disappointed with the way that the different looks were displayed as well as a Makeup quality….. I think that the girls who participated in this event were very beautiful however, their makeup and designers did them no justice.
