PHOTO GALLERY: 14th WCMF ends on high note

[nggallery id=58]

The 14th World Creole Music Festival culminated yesterday on a high note as patrons were given over 14 hours of non-stop entertainment at the Windsor Park Stadium.

The event, which usually gets underway at about 8 pm, started at about 3 pm in order to facilitate the artistes who didn’t perform on Saturday due to the inclement weather.

Those with tickets from Saturday’s show were allowed to share in the entertainment of Sunday’s lineup and vice versa.

Headline artistes Jah Cure enticed the crowd with his latest hit single ‘Unconditional Love’ and other favorites, while the legendary Steel Pulse coupled their greatness with the energy, and vybe of WCK and Triple Kay kept the crowd alive.

Other performances from T-Vice, Creole Stars featuring Princess Lover, Orlane, Stefan Ravor, and Costuleta and MKG Bank carried on exceptionally well in the absence of an unnoticed Krosfyah, which had to leave because of other obligations. The band was initially scheduled to perform on Saturday.

lol.. that was all some of you noticed, what was faltering for wck, that nayee and skinny was off track?.. lol.. really?… they was? hmm, most of the people enjoying the “show” that they put on did not notice because all they came to do was enjoythemselves, part of music is freestyling, nayee and skinny have been working together for year… that issue you guys brining up is insignificant. nayee brought a pure show to you guys this year, changing his outfit, adding some bwa bwa walkers.. the boy getting better and better and he was good already… see creole in teh park, people were all excited about the performance.. big up WCK and Nayee… i personally cannot wait for his albulm to come out. Respect NAYEE!!!!…. g

@looking in from the outside: The man is tarnishing the image of DOminica on a global scale!! Ridiculous!!! How convenient he was robbed by someone on the inside who accessed his room with a master key. The man is 007!! He is his own private investigator. I am pissed! This man is trying to portray Dominica like Jamaica. Sorry, no dice.

We seem to put more emphasis on foreign artistes than our local acts….. particularly our cadance legends……how the hell we expect to promote our music….no wonder our music ain’t going anywhere anytime soon……….where are the pics of the “Cadance Legends” ? didn’t they perform ?……. it’s time we stop disrespecting our icons

Out of 263 photos, I am yet to see a picture of the Domincan flag. What is wrong with this DNO. This is our independence, our culture, our creole festival. I saw photos of two visitors in some form of madras and a T-shirt printed Dominica. Not one Dominican flag!! I saw a Haitian flag and some other caribbean country (not sure if it is St. Vincent or Barbados). Where is our pride? Where are our hearts? We need to rise from this mental slavery that everyone else is better than us. Independence is freedom. Now would be a good time to free yourself from mental slavery.
