Six time calypso king Dice was the main feature at a calypso event dubbed Caribbean Calypso Explosion held in New York recently. The show also featured a number of calypsonians from the OECS and smaller Caribbean countries.

Not a Hater, I am Dominican, and always support every thing Dominican, But! the truth always hurts, and regardless, of who get vex, I will speak the truth, not just to blow hot air, but with a view that one day we will get it right, the sooner the better, for over Twenty Years I have been an avid supporter of all things Dominican, be it back yard or front yard activities, not too mention, our annual “KINGS OF KINGS CALIPSO SHOW” which I must say is getting better every year”. Hope those who think otherwise understand that. over all we just not ready, and time is running out for us to fix the problems, ie we all know its not easy to organize, I get IT!! Any thing without others coming on board which I have been doing.I am also fully aware the cost factors involved. I will leave it at that for now, allow who the cap fit to wear it and sound off one way or the other. Personally! I am fed up! as one comment said where was the crowd at the Show? I could not be counted as a ” Crowd”. SMH! noted! there was no mentioned as to the success or none success of the show I suspect this might have been left out deliberately. All in All In a loving way I want my Fellow Dominicans to know that my Head is hurting from the many, many KOOLWASH” I have received over the twenty odds years supporting all things Dominicans. Mind you there are exceptions and to be fair they deserve credit, and hats off too them. they know themselves. Hope I am clear with my point a view? But for the most parts we not ready and we should keep trying so hope fully we get it right sooner rather than later. From a proud Dominican who speaks from the heart and Love Dominica and all things Dominican.
Looking at the stage and the pics, looks like very few people attended.
