The seven ladies vying for the coveted title of Miss Dominica 2014, will present themselves to the public in the highly anticipated Pre-Show at the Arawak House of Culture on Sunday December 8th 2013.
The pre-show, a mini-pageant, presented by The Discover Dominica Authority, will be the contestant’s first opportunity to gauge their preparedness and wet the public’s appetite for next year’s pageant.
Queen Show Committee Chairperson, Romualda Hyacinth, says, “the pre-show is intended to give the Dominican public their first intimate view of the young ladies who will be competing for the 2014 National Queen title fresh on the heels of officially signing their contracts in late November.”
Patrons can anticipate an exciting show consisting of four (4) segments which will closely mirror the format of the Miss Dominica Pageant set for February 28, 2014.
The ladies will appear in casual wear outfits designed by Nadia McDowell and Sandra Bobb and constructed by Sharon Merifield. A promotional speech, one and a half minute talent, swimwear and evening wear rounds will complete the nights’ program.
Calypso Monarch Dennison ‘Dice’ Joseph, 2013 QTS winner Leona Peters, and the Waitukubuli Dance Theatre Company are among the talented groups and individuals set to add their flavour to an already amazing show.
The contestants are currently undergoing intense training sessions covering areas ranging from walking to speech and communication as well as participating in photo shoots, the first of which was held on Saturday November 30, 2013 at the Atlantique View Resort and Spa.
The beautiful young ladies in search of the title are Jewele’ Brown- Pointe Michel, Shalina Samuel – Stock farm, Octavia Prosper – La Plaine/Delices, Royette Laurent – Portsmouth, Donella Riviere – Roseau, Francine Baron – Grand Bay and Tourence Dorsette – Marigot.
The Pre-Show costs $25.00 for entry and begins at 7pm at the Arawak House of Culture on Sunday, December 8th, 2014.

Some of these girls name i have heard over and over again and i must say i admire thier determination. They could have been out there doing malice instead they are looking to bring good to the island.
Take eg. Octavia she takes part in all pageants it has be it school or in her village. Royette takes part in all musical competition.
Instead of trying to break down the girls for doing something GOOD i think we should lift them up.
And for those bad talking i hope allu kids not putting Shame in allu eyes..
The parents of the girl should be proud that ur daughter took a step forward to be an ambassador for her country. This is a life changing moment.

What is the point of pre- show. Hmm a money making thing. The girls need not waste their time for pre show when they should he preparing for their real show. State of confusion….
DNO. are you sure you have the contestant’s addresses right? I am from one of the villages mentioned and I am very confused about what I read.
This year, am not to excited about that lot ! I don’t see none that can even think of representing DA at Miss World Contest!

Good initiative by the DFC for using local talent for the swimwear segment of the show. These people are very creative and talented. Happy they are being given that opportunity.

ladies good luck may the best win…..altho it have one that so full of herself in public but im a psychologist i can tell is lack of confidence …but yet still shes displaying alot of strength by choosing to take part .i wish u best of luck do ur best and be proud of urself .my only advice to u is to stop act so miss highty tighty like u better than other people .nice clothes and nice things doesnt make a pig a swan. i think ur a duckling maybe with a better attitude u could be a swan …..
