The Dominican public is being asked to nominate at least three artistes of their choice for the 2015 World Creole Music Festival (WCMF).
The survey is opened and will last for another week.
“As customary we normally give the public an opportunity to nominate some bands, some artistes to appear on the festival…” Director of Tourism Colin Piper said.
The categories of music and artistes persons can choose from include Soca, Latin, Reggae, Bouyon, Compa, Zouk, among others.
“So that will be opened for another week or so … we will also try to get people to call in on radio programs when we have an opportunity…,” Piper said.
The WCMF is carded for October 30th, to November 1st, 2015 at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium.

Buju Banton… i heard that he was released. People would fly from mars to come see Buju perform in Dominica, especially if it’s his first performance since his release.
Crap! In that case nobody would turn up for him because there are no people living on Mars to fly to Dominica.
I cant understand why the powers at be cant see the incompetence or the lack of organisation in the leadership of the festivals. You have 7 months to a festival that’s when you are asking for nomination this should have been done in my opinion since the same time last year.
Suggestion:
It appears that the same people dealing with carnival is the same persons dealing with WCMF and Jazz. You can have some of the same people to help control cost but each of these festivals should be headed by different individual so they will put their full concentration into it.
There should be a pool of artist that you contact at least 3 years in advance about their availability and cost so you can work towards this goal well in advance.
7 months is not enough for this you need at least a year and the half of planning.
Mr. Piper put your management skills at work this is what you need to do not changing event dates and making opening of carnival climax on bay front. Come on you can do better.

George, you have point there. It is supposed to be a Creole music festival first and unique for Dominica. We are watering it down so much it is just another mucic festival and in that it is hard for us to compete with others.
