Local ensemble, Signal Band, has released its first video entitled, “Take over the World.”

The video speaks of and shows the potential of the Bouyon genre to dominate foreign markets due to its high energy and lyrical content with the ultimate goal “of taking over the world.”

It is expected to send out the message that through unity Bouyon will be a stronger force and will be able to cross the borders and therefore a call is made to other bands and artistes to endorse the mission to deliver proper lyrics and productions that can be marketed across the globe.

The song was written and performed by Sheldon “Shelly” Alfred and Signal Band.

The video shot and edited by Judah Jno Baptiste of Yw3TV.

Other artistes and bands who took part in the video endeavour by the group include WCK, Triple Kay, Asa Bantan, Kros Vybz, Digital Vybz, Outta, DiYoute and Sickberry.

Signal Band is a group of young men formed in the year 2010 for the purpose of converting talents and gifts into positive energy in an effort to keep Dominica’s music and culture alive.

The band performed at the 17th annual World Creole Music Festival, completed the first leg of a great initiative: an Anti-Violence campaign done early in 2014 and went on to being awarded at the 2013 National Youth Rally by the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development for “Music and Community Development”.

Members of the band include three-time Junior Calypso Monarch, Sheldon Alfred & local calypsonian, Beetle J as lead vocalists while prominent young cricketer on the local and regional level, Jerlani Robinson, handles the group’s affairs as Band Manager.

Go job guys !! Keep up the good work. Do your homework and try to expand your music beyond Dominica. Market your product well and try to do as much colab’s with soca artists around the region to push your music outside Dominica. Learn from the mistakes of others and work at your craft. Take the music as a business and not as just a joy ride to make albums during the carnival season alone.
