Songwriter, calypsonian and radio DJ, Richard “Benno” Christmas, is describing his latest video production, Take Hold, as a turnaround in the type of music he writes and sing.

He also described it as a ‘positivity’ meaning “a yardstick to show that it is never too late to turn around..”

“That video marks a turnaround for me in the kind of music I do, the kind of music I write and the kind of music I sing,” Christmas, 26, said.

He stated the song and video are “basically asking God to take hold of me of everybody who listens to the song.”

The song, described as a fusion between soca and dancehall, itself was released over two years ago and just about a month ago he decided to make the video for it.

“As soon as the video was done, Erika came so everything was so fitting. So we released the video …” Christmas said.

He noted that the song is not a religious but a positive one that depicts the calling on the Almighty Father to take hold and “never let go to take us through all the challenging times, the challenging situations, just take hold of us and do what he sees fit.”

He said the inspiration for the song came from God and says it is his first initiation of his “positive vibes.”

The video was produced by Blue Feva Entertainment.

Enjoy this haters crap is so out of style. I have listened to the song analytically and it is mediocre. Nothing jumps at you. Jah will rescue me is cliche. The video work in terms of content left a lot to be desired. Still want to give him kudos for his efforts but with that voice more could be achieved

Totally agree! I advise Beno to take the advice (positive criticism) being given for further improvement. The song is catchy; his vocals sounds good but song & video leaves you wanting more in terms of lyrics and video graphics.

To a certain extent yeah. Could have definitely left off the “s and the niggers”. Other than that, good vibes.

That song is lacking both in melody and lyrics. One verse sang three times. A songwriter is needed because the lyrics are wanting. Beno your effort must be commended

Try to see the positive in the comment. I am not a Producer or even a Musician but a lover of music (and a fan of Beno’s music at that!) an can therefore offer positive criticism for improvement. I advise Beno to take the advice (positive criticism) being given for further improvement. The song is catchy; his vocals sounds good but song & video leaves you wanting more in terms of lyrics and video graphics.
