Tasha P grabs second spot in regional kaiso contest

Tasha P, Dominica’s first female calypso monarch in over 50 years, has secured the second spot in the Euphony Vibes Regional Female Kaiso Show held in Montserrat.

It was Tasha P’s first regional competition as Dominica’s Calypso Monarch. She obtained 687 points with her popular songs “Let Children Be Children” and “He’s a boy”, 15 points less than the winner, St.Lucia’s contestant ‘Minelle.’

St. Kitts, represented by ‘Singing Jackie,’ took third place.

Eight participants from across the region contested the event on Friday, December 23.

Tasha P also won the Calypso Queen title in Dominica this year.

the ladies were rocking with all that rain they stood their ground and we thought that tasha got it but judges decision is final and dominica should make it public when delegates are taking part in regional competition so as to generate more support tasha i was very proud of you

Congrats Tasha, job well done!!!! But let me just say: why is it that we never heard about this competition before. This is good marketing for Dominica and is only after the competition we’re finding out about this…SMH
