I am very happy for Tasha P and I do hope that she do her best on the night, stay focus and positive,go on the stage first to enjoy her self and everything will fall in place, never take winning of the 2 crowns like well i did it so I know am going to win, I want Tarsha to treat the stage like it is her comfort zone,go out there and just sing, party and execute her lines.
I just wish that her second song was different. in the monarch competition there is no gender.that’s what I believe. everyone has to fight. it is an = stage.not man verses woman.and that is why I never wanted a song like this,we women have all the right to be on stage with the men, some of us are even better performers than the men. so I wish her second song title was something like am gonna make it happen.

@ Sandy: Miss Sandy you are SO right…I had my fingers crossed for Tasha P taking the Monarchy this year, but when I heard that ultra-feminist “woman time” I gave up….I’m a woman and the points she brought out in her song are valid. But I believe because of the mixed gender of the Calypso Show, she could have chosen another tune. Maybe even something to the effect like “Sorry babes i gotta leave you in Brooklyn, Is Dominica I coming”…I feel our calypsonians don’t bring out that nationalistic pride in Dominica’s carnival enough in their songs…you listen to the Trinis, Bajans, Vincys compositions and that’s the general theme…wanting to be home for the carnival.

Girl you better give Tasha P a break, that’s girl power.is there a law that says people should not sing while someone is performing. i think it will help her in the end. there is no way you can come in her shoes. you just a hater.

Congrats Tasha P. Use your talent to uplift yourself and young persons in the country. Remain focus, humble and positive. The entertainment arena is one that can get persons trapped in some of the vices of the society. Keep your head high and surround yourself with positve people. Your two wins will see more people gravitate towards you, but just remember your destiny is in your hands. Keep it up and go all the way for the 3rd crown.

The sad thing is that its a man’s world, so no matter how hard she works whether she deserves it or not it will not be given to her. Tasha be open minded about this, go out and do your thing to the best of your ability. May God be your guide.

Every time I look at and hear Tasha, I wonder about Tarina.

Tasha has developed so well in singing. Started small, working hard at it, and she is getting results.

    What happened to Tarina?

These are two talented stars that we should support.

Good going Tasha, keep it up. Other young women should follow suit and should not think that
they are bound to have all the best clothes, weave, shoes, and get rich over night.

As simple as you are you are doing well for yourself.

ALTHOUGH THE FIRST SONG ABOUT CHILDREN IS A POWERFUL SONG I DON’T THINK THE SECOND SONG,LYRICALLY, IS GOOD ENOUGH. THIS SONG IS,TO ME, RECYCLE LYRICS.NOTHING NEW. IT LIKE THE SONG” GIRLS WANNA HAVE FUN.” JUST RECYCLE STUFF.
I KNOW SHE WILL DO GOOD BUT I DON’T THINK THE SECOND SONG IS GOOD ENOUGH.

      March 3, 2011

I FULLY AGREE WITH YOUR COMMENTS. BIBLICALLY WOMEN HAVE THEIR PLACE AND DON’T SEEM THIS IS TRUE FROM THIS SONG.THIS SONG IS RECYCLE MATERIAL.

The most remarkable thing about Tasha is that she is simple, humble and is still very innocent in looks and action, she is really still being a child, like she is not overdoing it if u understand what I mean (acting her age). He dressing is remarkably respectful, she is still a student, but though exposed to stage life have not fallen for the “day-col-tey clothing, skimpy appearance or selling her assets kinda of look. The songs you are singing are indeed a reflection of the child in you and the woman you are aspiring to be.
Keep it up Tasha, I had a few close up interactionS with you and I am pleased. Wishing you God’s continued guidance today and always. If you continue on this path, you will surely succeed.

THE STARS ARE YOUR LIMIT – REACH FOR THEM!!!

I agree. She and Tarina are multi-talented, You should have seen and heard Tasha perform the ballad “At Last” at the Arawak House of Culture at a show in the last quarter of 2010.

Doing it big for the women this year! We might finally have what singing sandy ,diva nayoka and all the other wonderful female calypsonians have been fighting for every year…this year we might have two queens! that would be great! I like my man dice…but to me this is like the american elections between hillary and obama (the fight for the democratic sit) …the first black president or the first woman…anyone would have made me happY…if dice wins then i will be happy…if tasha p wins then i will just be a tiny winny bit HAPPIER! ITS woman time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)

      March 4, 2011

tasha p will make women proud, but singing sandy was the first woman that won the crown and was rob of it.I love tasha p and I love singing sandy, she was a very good calysonian and was taking for granted, but I do hope that Tasha p does well. question didn’t Leandra sang women time in 2007. it’s a song that has been sang before.lets just hope that it work this time.

      • MOT
        March 4, 2011

Sandy wasn’t robbed. The year in question when she sang Strong Black Woman, she just wasn’t enunciating her words properly…for instance alot of people didn’t even know she was saying “Sun has tanned me”…

don’t forget RENDITION and CLARITY is what gives the most points.

yes how fast we can for get.remember in 2007 no one had singing sandy as a front runner.it was all about tarina and dice.and singing sandy prove them wrong.well my people lets just wait and see, cause the judges might just correct the mistake they made with sing sandy, and make tasha p the first ever monarch.but don’t under estimate the others they might live all calypso lover shock.
