For the first time in almost two decades, Carnival lovers will see the re-emergence of ‘The Original Bouyon Pioneers’ at a major street event.
The band will take to the streets on Carnival Monday (February 8 ) alongside Kairi FM T-shirt Band and headline sponsor FLOW, providing revellers with what organizers describe as ‘exciting entertainment.’
“It’s been more than 16 years since the original members have come together to put something on the road,” group member, Derrick ‘Rah’ Peters said at a press conference on Wednesday. “Normally we would do it on a Tuesday but they changed it and put it on a Monday so we are going to go with that FLOW.”
He said also that the band will be on the road, “doing something solid.”
Peters thanked patrons who have already come on board to part take in Monday’s ‘Street Jump up’.
Marketing Manager and Events Coordinator at Kairi FM, Sherian Letang, said the event will be a historic one.
“We are flowing with the Original Bouyon Pioneers and we are extremely excited about that,” she said. “This year we are going to be somewhat historic…It’s going to be an all-white band so you are going to see a sea of white with all of the colours…”
She stated that the band is going to be a full package with Major Mystic and Asa Bantan being part of the line-up.

Rah is an Original of the WCK we knew. When WCK came out as a band, it was not Keith and Cornel only.

Even though Cornell and Wackers started off as the original as u claim, Rah was the one who brought WCK to the top, Rah created Bouyon music, he IS the king of bouyon with some massive hits back in the 90s and it’s a fact, Rah IS part of the original WCK, he has been there from way back, do u remember songs like Kulture Shock, Nom LA and Champion girl which was released in 1992 sang by Rah, WCK became in existencein 1988 so when u speaking I think u need to go back to the drawing board and get your facts straight, Rah will always be part of the original WCK
