The road to Jazz ‘n Creole 2013

Elisha BenoitThe fringe events for the 4th annual Jazz and Creole began on Wednesday  May 15, at the Evergreen Hotel with a Pan ‘n Jazz soiree. It continued on Thursday night with a ‘Word, Sound and Power’ presentation at the Anchorage hotel and at the Fort Young Hotel on Friday (May 17), with Happy Hour, featuring Caribbean Vybz along with other popular local Jazz artistes.

The last such event is scheduled for Saturday (May 18) at the River Stone Bar and Grill with performances by Gregory Rabess and Breve.

The main event will be held at the Cabrits on Sunday May 19.

Here are some photos taken at Thursday’s event at the Anchorage.

The use of the word ‘fringe’ to describe the events leading up to the main Jazz and Creole event at the Cabrits is most unfortunate. These events should be seen as supporting or leading up to the main event. ‘Fringe’ implies that the events at the other venues are marginal events.
