Mr. Daryl Bobb, Observer and Hunter, please it could be $1 I paid for the show I deserved to have a covering over my head at your event. It’s like inviting me to the flu finals. I still enjoyed the show anyway.

A reporter wants to start a controversy because he believes
that a calypso is directed at him. In the beginning of the calypso, the calypsonian makes it plain he has changed his nationality from Dominican to Jamaican. A Dominican would say call me, but a Jamaican would be say something which sounds like carl I, meaning call me. Where is the controversy in the calypso.

Stephan and Nacheal are newcomers too.

Admin: Thanks for your observation. You’re right about Stephan but Nacheal performed at the eliminatiions last year.

I would like to suggest that calypsonians should be asked to send in their calypsos, say around November, and a panel of judges would listen to the songs at their leisure and select the best to proceed to the eliminations round. 62 calypsonians in one night is absurd.

62 Calypsonians? Are they serious? Suggestion: Divide calypsonians into tents and have judges attend the tent performances to select worthy performers for participation in the quarter-finals which should have no more than 24 singers, with 15 going to the semi-finals.

Eh carcon, we have eighteen ministers for a small country and you want to reduce the number of calypsonians. Let them compete, good or bad just like our ministers. trouble is we do not quarter final for ministers.

Thats the reason why allu still in opposition making everything political. Use the RS MP as a template for effective opposite representation.

I don’t see any familiar names here. Am I just getting old or is calypso in DA going through a change?

Maybe you are one of those who only attend finals….If you go to eliminations every year then these names should be familiar

I support the tents being used as the stage for selecting the quarterfinalist, that will get our Calypsonians to star working earlier on their material and also will start our competition earlier. Also Genius is actually Jerd Dorsete and the young lady Nasheal is a former Junior Monarch. I cant understand however, how Alisha did not make that thirteen but I am not a judge and these folks don’t answer questions. Lets all enjoy what the various writer’s contributed to the competition and remember its a competition is not cumbaya we come to hear.

Or maybe you just not a calypso fan, cause the only new names I see there are Phael Lander (who was a competitor in the junior calypso monarch for a couple of years, B.O Bradley, De Clarke and Judgement.

All semifinalist of the previous year automatically go to quarter final. So you may hear some of the more familiar names then.
