The 2015 Miss Dominica State College (DSC) Mas Jamboree, which was scheduled to be staged at the Windsor Park Stadium’s forecourt on Thursday, has changed location.
The pageant will now be held at the Arawak House of Culture.
Director of Student Services at the DSC, Edgar Hunter told Dominica News Online (DNO) that the location was changed because of “backstage issues.”
He also said the forecourt does not have the presentable environment for the elegance of the pageant.
According to Hunter, one can sit, relax and enjoy the show even more at the Arawak House of Culture.
He was asked about the possibilities of hosting the show at the DSC Auditorium.
“The stage at the college is too small and there are no backstage facilities,” Hunter stated.
He also explained that the Arawak House creates “the kind of ambiance you will have associated with the pageant” and it can accommodate more people than the DSC Auditorium.
Seven young ladies are expected to compete for the crown.
The show will also feature Calypso performances and a Bouyon section.
The Bouyon section will be held a the Windsor Park Stadium.
Tickets cost $15.00 for students with ID and $20.00 for everyone else.
The show is expected to begin at 5:00 pm.
The reigning Miss DSC Mas Jamboree is Ayanna St Rose.

sooooooooooooooooooooooo true
a set of nonsense. if you all knew the Stadium forecourt had “backstage issues why wait till the last moment to change venues. Dominica i tell you is so backwards with all these experts that running things.
Good decision that, it makes sense. My only observation is that in a small country like ours we have ssooo many Miss this and Miss that competitions it looking like an industry replacing bananas. Well, fellers like ogling girls and the girls teasing the fellers, that is as old as the garden of Eden. Must be the forbidden fruit is more appealing than bananas!
