Promotion of the Sweet Sixteen edition of World Creole Music Festival (WCMF) kicks off today with the first in a series of Friday Festival Dwivé.
The event begins at 4:30 pm with a street parade on the Roseau Bayfront which will then move to the event’s venue, the Krazy Kokonuts in Castle Comfort.
The parade is expected to start from outside the offices of headline sponsors, Digicel on the Roseau Bayfront, and continue left to Kennedy Avenue, right onto Independence Street, right onto Cork Street, left onto the Bayfront and through to Victoria Street to Krazy Koconuts, the home of Festival Dwivé.
Organizers say the Festival Dwivés will this year have a thematic ring to them, starting with this week-end’s theme on food to be followed by a Homage to Jeff Jo on October 5th, Dance theme on October 12th and a DJ Clash and Fashion show on October 19th.
Each Festival Dwivé will feature a mix of local musical and other performing talents, along with opportunities for fans to purchase tickets to the WCMF at a reduced price and the chance to win several prizes from sponsors and other partners of the Festival.
I understand by now that we don’t like that line-up BUT what useful purpose does it serve to keep repeating that.
It is a national event for Gods sakes! Can we not find it in our hearts to say nothing if we have nothing good to say?
Negativity in all forms is killing this country!
Festival Budget getting smaller….Ticket prices getting higher every year. Something doesn’t make sense here. Mr. Editor we are yet to see you mention the price for these so called reduced priced tickets that will be on sale.
Whats de word??
Not Impressed by this year’s line up..
Plus i would never put foot at that Krazy’s Place.
this fest will be a failure in my view…
the Budget gets too small every year.
We don’t take anything serious in Dominica..
Its all done under pretence and just a smoke screen show..
can we never present our island in a positive view. I may not love the line up but it is a tourism and economic avenue for many and I will promote it positively no matter what…that is love for country because until I see the festival as a total loss for all stakeholders I will never cry it down.
there is no money but let’s play our role to convince the powers that more money needs to be put into it.
