$2.8M water project to begin Tuesday

Dominica Water and Sewage Company (DOWASCO) in collaboration with the government of Dominica will on Tuesdaybreak ground for the commencement of work on the Delices Water Supply Project.

In an interview with the media on Monday, DOWASCO Public Relations Officer Gwenie Dickson said the project is one of six projects to be undertaken by DOWASCO this year.

“This system will include the construction of a new intake, 30,000 imperial gallons storage tank, pump house and new supply and distribution network,” she said.

The project is funded by the government of Dominica and is costing about $2.8million.

The ground breaking will take place at Delices from 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Thursday (March 5th 2010) on the UWP show on Q95 i heard Mr. Green said prior to 2002 the people of Delices had no water problem, now I am learning from ‘Delices Son’ that its been over 30 years there was a water problem!!!

I am seriously confused, so you mean RON GREEN WASN’T AWARE OF THE WATER PROBLEM IN DELICES? WOW WHAT I PARL REP HE WAS, NO WONDER HE WAS VOTED OUT!!!!!!

Peter Pepper is a go-getter and would not rest until he had gotten that water project. His opponents said that he had nothing to offer the constituency but he only promised what he knew can be achieved in this economic hard times. Pepper show them you mean business and did not promise what you cannot achieve. You can list you achievements unlike your opponent.

This is good news for the community of Delices. Government you made a promise to the community and you are well on your way of keeping it. This is a trademark of a government and Parl Rep that is working for the people.

The people of the community will continue to reward you for your inerest in the people.

God Bless PM Skerrit and Hon. Peter St. Jean.
