Five contestants will be taking part in this year’s Madam Wob Dwiyet 2019 which is scheduled for tonight, October 17th at the old mill cultural center at 8 pm.
The contestants are Angelica Gasper (Castle Bruce), Athene Gachette (Roseau), Christina Charles (Grand Bay), Theresa Honore (Portsmouth) and Dorothy Laurent (Little Soufriere).
The announcement was made by Chief Cultural Officer Raymond Lawrence.
Meantime on October 24th, 2019 seven contestants will be competing for Miss Wob Dwiyet 2019. They are Myra Bruno (Warner), Sasha Jno Carbon (Castle Bruce), Mahira Edina Jno-Baptiste (Petite Savanne), Tammika Larissa Tavernier (Soufriere), Micala Hector (Grand Fond), Alleia Kennisha Shillingford (Calibishie) and Shaihda Francois (Paix Bouche).
Lawrence said, “it has been a while since all seven districts have represented”.
Ti Madator and Heritage Day will also be held this weekend.
Ti Matodor is carded for The Alliance Francaise on Sunday from 3:30 pm and Grand Fond has been chosen as the venue for Heritage Day on the same day.
Heritage Day activities will begin with a church service at the Grandfond Catholic Church at 10 am followed by the exhibition at the Grandfond primary school and this will be followed by the cultural gala at the Grandfond basketball court.”
Creole Day will be observed next week Friday, the 25th of October where one of the highlights for the day will be the national dress parade which will involve various.
