Just over a year after he was ordained, Calvin Auguiste, of St. Joseph, has left the priesthood, information reaching Dominica News Online has revealed.
The reasons for his departure are unknown at this point but sources have confirmed his exit to Dominica News Online.
Reports are that he left the parish in St. Lucia where he ministered a few weeks ago.
Auguiste was ordained a priest at the Catholic church in St. Joseph by Bishop of the Diocese of Roseau, His Lordship, Gabriel Malzaire on May 26, 2015.
He began his journey to the priesthood at 17.
At the ordination ceremony, Auguiste told the congregation that his elevation to the Order of Presbyterate was a sign that with God all things are possible.
“Who would ever thought a little ‘kawant’ (wayward person) from Sen Joe would be ordained a priest today?” he said to thunderous applause.
The ceremony was attended by the President of Dominica, His Excellency Charles Savarin and his wife, MP for St. Joseph, Kelvar Darroux and other government dignitaries.

Our Almighty Father will always regard you as a Priest even though you will no longer be a practicing one. You know, God does not alter his mind when He blesses his priests during the ordination and baptized members, be they babies or adults. When He confers the blessing from on high ,as it is administered by His Bishop or Priest, it is forever.
We, the faithful Catholics are surprised and disappointed that you have decided to leave the priesthood. We are obviously curious of the cause. I did not speculate the reason but am simply in suspense.

Anyways that’s still not the way to treat the gentleman neither Roman Catholic church. The church has mad a positive contribution to his life and he has made a positive contribution to the church and parishioners.

This is a trusted man. Because a person leave a company he has been working for does not mean is something bad that person has done. I think it was his calling to be a priest if it was’nt he would be out before he took the vows. The soul is willing but his body is week that’s why he left. The almighty works on his children when we put our trust in him. I was ready to begin a nursing program I had a dream drawing blood form someone during the process someone said to me that’s not for you I forgot about it, I got a job getting a salary just as a nurse’s salary. Through the years, many under the age of 40 and as young as this Priest joined the priesthood and remained good, holy priests. Obviously, some have since passed on and others are retired..

So are you saying that only catholics will be saved and go to heaven? This is the stupidity that I am talking about. Religion has really captivated the minds of the people and many are scared to let go. Our fore-parents’ hands and feet were shackled but our minds are shackled by religion and it remains perpetual. The only way that we can be free is to break those shackles by letting go of these religions.

I truly agree with you. Now is the time for him to find himself, get married and start his family. Just as it was his decision to become a priest, it’s his decision to give up the frock. I believe that he has reminisced and has come to a very good decision. Hopefully his eyes will be opened to know that his fore-parents were always spiritual and does not have to worship or serve any figure to be spiritual.
Many will detest this statement but there is one brother who said that “man created god.” The word is of german origin and to every religion there is a god and there is the literature to go along with that teaching.

I was raised in the Catholic Church as well. From the time I turned 15, I was a very active young person in the Church, with our Youth Group; up to the day I left Dominica. My mom died a devoted Roman Catholic–but we cannot blame people like her.
Fortunately for me, when God moved me from Dominica to Toronto Canada, He also took me out of the Roman Catholic Church –He had great plans for me, no doubt; I know it today
Some times I say I wish I did not leave Dominica, but each time I say that; God reminds me, the it was His plan for me–I would not be the person I am today, If I had stayed in Dominica.
But now God is willing me to go back home–He has prepared me to serve people at home, as He has chosen them for me–His Will be done.
I am ready to do what He wants me to do; to say what He wants me to say; and go where He wants me to go–all for His glory , not mine .
You must have done something wrong in your life to leave the Catholic Church. If I were you I would not applaud and exalt that. When you die you will find out your grave error.

Through the years this Church has gone through much persecution and it is still standing for God is with His Church.

I have noticed that there is a problem with DNO’s Website. Words keep changing. I have no idea if it is wilful or not. Well, God knows.
Pope Francis will accept it. He knows what people are up against in the world. As of yet, we do not know why he left.
Oh yes! He did not have to worry where his food and a bed would come from. Out in the world, as you know, I know and others, it is not easy. We have to work in the sweat of our brows.
Imagine he would get paid vacation to any part of the world he wished to visit. Free medical. Whenever he traveled, he was sure to have a place to stay and not pay for a hotel or pay his costs any other place. He would not have to worry about material things.

It is the best time to commence when there is still innocence. There are stories of saints as St. Theresa Lisieux, Little Flower of Carmel who was a nun at a young age. Her story is a wonderful one.
The Pope, then, thought she was too young to be a nun. She went all the way to Rome from France to see the Pope. She persisted. He gave her permission to be a nun. Today she is called a Doctor of the Catholic Church – one of them. Her book is entitled: “Story Of A Soul.” See if you can get it.
There are other stories of young men who became priests in those days. I cannot keep up with all those stories. I love listening to their stories on the US Catholic TV/Radio. They are enlightening.

The R.C. Priesthood is not after the Order of Levi, because the Levitical Priests did get married and raised their families. Neither is it after the Order of Melchisedek or Christ, because one would have to be a Priest forever; ever if he resigns the priesthood or is disfellowshipped or excommunicated. So what is the Scriptural basis for forbidding R.C. Priests to get married? Peter! Yes, Petros; Yes Cephas! The fisherman was unmarried and, being recognised by the R.C. church as their patron and first Pope, the priesthood was ordered after him. So any debate on whether Priests should be permitted to marry, should be a debate on whether Peter could or could not exercise his choice to marry.

By saying: \”he who is able to accept it, let haim accept it\” Jesus is saying that the Life of celibacy is a personal choice–it should not be forced on no one.
You refer to ancient days, before Our Lord Jesus Christ lived on earth, long before the Catholic Church was formed and comparing its practices to those people of the Old Testament.
The Catholic Church does not have to follow what occurred in that era for the Priesthood of all. It would be foolish to do so. Some of you make this mistake. The Levitical Priests have nothing to do with the Catholic Church, although the Church could use them as an example of the Old Testament but not necessarily so.
We are people of the New Testament, a Christian people, based on Our Lord’s Life, Teachings, Passion, Death and Resurrection in addition to the writings/ directives of St. Paul and the other disciples.

In the New Testament, the writing of St. Paul stated about “unmarried people.” He also said, “I would like you to live as I” – unmarried.

Christ left no instructions as to how a pope was to be chosen. Peter himself left no instructions on how to select the next pope, nor did any of the other apostles. Why was this? Because in the church during the first, and second century A.D. there was no such office or position as “pope”. The papacy evolved gradually. In 590 A.D. Gregory 1 refused to accept title UNIVERSAL BISHOP.

You know nothing. Study the New Testament. There are reasons why the Priests do not get married. First of all, they have a choice. They are not forced into the priesthood and they are not forced to remain in the priesthood.
While in the Seminary, they have seven years of studies and to decide about it. Some willingly chose the priesthood and to remain in it. It is a Calling from God. Those who do so voluntarily and remain are extremely happy.
Prior to taking their vows, they also have that opportunity to leave or remain. They joined the priesthood with their free mind and will. Therefore, cease your ungodly satanic ignorant views. In 606 A.D. Bonifice 3 accepted the title UNIVERSAL BISHOP making him the first pope after Gregory 1 had refused this title in 590 A.D.

We should not speculate why he left the R.C. priesthood. Many men leave the priesthood. Some for personal reasons. Others because they see truths in the Bible that make it impossible to continue believing some things they must believe to be an honest priest.
I have read the testimonies of former priests who discovered through their own study of the Holy Scriptures that in the Mass the wafer does NOT become the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Jesus Christ. In fact no change takes place. The Mass is not a sacrifice.
The death of Christ on the cross was the last and final sacrifice for sin.
It was so perfect no other sacrifice was ever necessary. “By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.” (Hebrews 10:10)

There is nothing so joyous about the cross. It is the symbol of death and ever since we have been worshipping jesus and the cross, we are catching hell. The cross was copied from the symbol of life, the ankh. We go around in circles chasing our own tails and on a daily basis we are getting worse as a race of people. Years passed now and I have no plans getting involved in a debate about which church is legit or not true faith etc. We have moved on. Correction: The R.C. doctrine of transubstantiation teaches that the fermented wine turns into the literal blood of Christ; and the wafer transforms into the literal body of Christ. Just to add to yours. Jesus used physical examples to speak Spiritual Truths, but He expected that faith in people would transform that physical expression into the Spiritual–but people could not apply faith; so they continued to uses their human senses which kept them spiritually blind and death.
At John Chapter 6 Jesus is speaking about food that stays good and gives Life and the food which turns into waste and leaves the body. The food that gave Life, He says, was His own flesh and blood. They also never or hardly ever discuss these Catholics matters with others. Their friends may not be practicing Catholics or are non-Catholics. Their primary concern is their personal matters and the things of this world.
The saying, “If you do not use it, you lose it. This is the reason why some of them renounced their Catholic Faith as soon as a false prophet approaches them and informs them that every church is the same; they can worship in any church; God is everywhere; do not practice the Catholic Doctrines and Its religious teaching; it is not important to obtain eternal salvation and the list of derogatory comments against the Catholic Church goes on.

The next time you interact with them, ask them about the above. First, when last they practiced their Catholic Faith. This will give you an insight of how Catholic they are.

The bible, on a whole, keep people in ignorance because it is a book of mythology, allegory and methaphor. I am proud be a Christian and a catholic. I was educated in catholic schools, served as a alter boy and by upbringing was a disciplined one through my catholic church. I was an acolyte and volunteered in many activities towards the disciplined and growing up on youths. We survived , we learnt we went to higher education, eg. St. Mary Academy. Henry V111 was no worse than many of the popes. How these men lived was not even taken into consideration. What spiritually intelligent people would have stayed in a “church” headed by Henry V111? Yet these were the same people who had stayed in a “church” headed by their popes for hundreds of years because the popes had taught them to question nothing.

It is very easy for the Roman Catholic Church to deceive and hold unto people with this level intelligence. They believe what they are told and know they are not to doubt what the ”church” tells them.
For centuries the R.C. Church told its people they were not to read the Bible. The priests visited the homes and took the Bibles from the people. Bibles were collected and burned in the village square.
Human nature being what it is that failed. People continued to read the Bible. In fact they read it even more. Then the church took a different position. It now tells its people ”You can read the Bible. But you are not allowed to interpret it.”
But that is not working either. You don’t need a religious organization to tell you what a scripture means any more than you need a flashlight to find the sun. The Word of God itself is light. People are reading the Bible and coming to saving faith in Christ.

The Catholic Church is The One and Only True Church Our Lord Jesus Christ established.
Those who have sense should ask, why are there 100,000 different churches in the world. These interpret Holy Scriptures to suit their mentality. They should look at themselves and how they live.
