Cancer-stricken Venezuelan president Chavez given ‘less than a year to live’

Chavez

Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez has been told by doctors that he has less than a year to live.

The 56-year-old who is running for a third six-year term this year, declared himself cancer-free since undergoing surgery in Cuba to remove a tumour and said no ‘malignant cells’ had been found.

However medical sources close to the controversial leader have countered his claims and insist that his prognosis couldn’t be worse, adding that he will be lucky to survive until the presidential elections in October.

No one lives forever. Chavez and his supporters whether political or not must remember their end, sooner or later and live accordingly.
I knew that Chavez was pretending that he was restored to health. He deceived a few people. Not me! Those dictators too often hide their health conditions.
Note the North Korean one. It was said that he was dead a long time ago. People are still doubtful about the manner he died as broadcasted.
At this point, Chavez will do well to conform his will to the Most Holy Will of God and ask sincere forgiveness since he is given the time to do so. This is the love, forgiveness and mercy of God. May he embrace this God-given opportunity for his eternal soul’s sake.

Well I guess all those “Viva Chavez!” that the citizens of Venezuela have been shouting blindly and tirelessly for the past 18 years he was in power DID NOT WORK! The higher those dictators climb, the harder they fall.

    • yeah.
      January 19, 2012

so how long have you lived in venezuela ? how u know he is a dictaor? well, am living in venezuela and i am free. to say as i want to do as i want. is that what fox news told u?

      @ :-)
He voted himself in for life. He thought he is God, assuming the duties of God as God looked on and that he could live to be a hundred or more and also with long life.
I recall a saying which I heard on Catholic Radio and which a holy man, now departed stated: “You want to make God laugh? Tell him of your plans.” Whenever I remember this I smile/laugh. I love to repeat it.
God knows better. Some people assume and are too presumptuous. Instead of asking God for his help and protection, they go about with their own understanding and as if they own people and the world. God soon brings them to naught. God detests proud people who place themselves on a pedestal, greater than God and also others. I hope Chavez really asks God forgiveness. God is giving him that time to do so. May he not miss this golden-opportunity and miss the eternal boat.
Always be patient, loving and kind to every one whom we associate with and also meet. God likes all-rounders. Give God His dues.

Talk about absolute power corrupting. The man refuses to take treatment all so that he can start campaigning for re-election. Se what happens when power goes to man’s head? Hope we learn.

      January 19, 2012

      @ Eagle Eye

You made me laugh. His spirit will not want to leave the earth since it will have to pay for its evil deeds. This is why some people see spirits which are not all good ones. One day they will be where they belong for their evil deeds.
I read that Satan allows those souls to return to the world to annoy us and tempt us. If you are a Catholic, keep holy water close at hand and bless yourself, your family, your house and surroundings. It surely helps to keep them out as the roam the world and also gives peace of heart, mind and soul and peace in the home.

The man is not yet dead, yet so many mourners “on board” and so many farewells are being extended. Who say God can’t heal him, if HE wills? Who is to say any other seemingly-healthy leader will outlive him?

    Life is strange, you know.

    • Justice and Truth
      January 19, 2012

      @ Waitukubuli:

Are you a Christian? Do you have understanding of the Christian faith and what God wants and expects of each and every one of us?
God heals. When he does, keep in mind, He does not heal for their selfish reasons to continue to perform harm. There is something he is expecting from people if He heals them and it is genuine worship, love from a pure heart, humility and good works in Jesus Name. Too many say that God healed them and they continue in their ways as they were prior to being healed, deceiving themselves.
In the Holy Bible, it is stated that if he forgives and heals any one, they better be good otherwise a worst plague will befall them.
I do not want to condemn Chavez but what good works has Chavez done for his people? I view that man as an enemy of democracy and a menace to the democratic world. Note that the President of Iran is his friend.
The last time he was in the U.S. he lambasted the U.S. on CNN, Larry King Live as if the U.S. is worst than him and his ruling.

    • Justice and Truth
      January 19, 2012

They are offering him whatever tribute that they think he deserves before he dies. You know the saying, “Send me no flowers when I dead. Give them to me when I am alive.”
Some people are hypocritical. Note the tears that some North Koreans shed when their leader died even though they were oppressed. As I read, those who did not cry or showed no sympathy were sent to the concentration camp. What a thing to happen to people as God looks on patiently. I wonder if this will happen when Chavez die? There are some who will hypocritically canonize him as a saint. Wait, see and hear.

      • Waitukubuli
        January 20, 2012

God has mercy on whom he wills and compassion on whom He wills. It is by grace, we are all saved, not by works, lest any many should boast. Too often we deem ourselves “holier” than others; hence, we expect that God will do more for us than others. But He is not a God of partiality and HE does as HE pleases.

Hatred for others has no place in the Kingdom of GOD.

        Be blessed.

Thanks to Chavez for all he has done for Dominica although I remain pissed off about the bird island issue. I do hope that chavez’s unfortunate situation will bring some perspective to our people and government. We cannot depend on donations to develop our country. It is no secrete that over the last decade our country has become dependent on handouts and today we are not producing like we were 20-25 years ago. We have abandoned our agricultural sector and have done nothing significant to develop tourism

Who shall we turn too now that Kadaffi is gone and Chavez maybe terminally ill ? We have isolated our selves from countries who are capable of providing support – disrespected the US ambassadors; called NATO.

I sure hope these arrogant and ignorant politicians learn a lesson

Asterisk all right. So much for them. Their people are hungry, starving, living in poverty and are oppressed. How much can they help countries as Dominica? Dominica may be better off than they are and should not seek their handouts.

    • Justice and Truth
      January 19, 2012

      @ Wikileak

Think God! Whatever Chavez has done for Dominica, it should have been to alleviate poverty. This is Our Lord Jesus Christ’s concern for his people. Each one of us must contribute to this, love for God and love for all.
Chavez exhibited hatred for democratic countries.
What has he done for God, to bring souls home to Him? Did he love and worship God with all his heart and soul and live a godly life? By this we will be judged. By this we will be judged and given a fair and just recompense as we deserve.
When all is said and done these are the only things that matters that souls might be saved and obtain eternal salvation. This is the be all and end all of all.

I wish Mr.Chavez well, I know he is a smart man and so if he is indeed that sick, I hope he quits this thing soon to spend the last few days with his family. After he is gone, no amount of money will fill the void that his passing will leave in their lives. I have been there and I know that dead people feel no pain, but those that they have left to mourn remain sad sad sad for a long long time.

I do not agree with much of your policies Mr. Chavez, but I wish you well. Give it up, and concentrate on your relationship with God, this is paramount and also your immediate family, they will miss you a whole lot.

What is interesting in that full story, is that Chaves “is questioning whether the US has developed some technology to give left wing leaders cancer”. The answer is yes Chaves, its called Ionizing Radiation. You forgot when you came to the UN to give that speech, and called Bush the devil, you said you still smell the scent of sulfur, that smell was coming from your middle section. The unit was concealed under the podium, pointed at your testicles.
Mr. Skerrit, did you give a speech there too? be careful, watch out!

    • Justice and Truth
      January 19, 2012

      @ Kocolukes:

Some name! Chavez went to Cuba for treatment. Why was Cuba not able to treat him to good health? It may be their technology/radiation which deteriorated his health.

You do not know when your end will come, how soon, how you will age if you do, how healthily and when you will die and will you obtain eternal salvation. Think of these things.

what this say to us, while we think we have more time than Chavez, we should try and focus on doing to the other what we would like to be done to us.

I wish President Chavez and his family the best during this time. He however needs to accept his own mortality. It might do him well to focus on his treatment plan and getting better as opposed to trying to prove that he is not sick. Health before wealth and power! Get better our friend.

No country is anyone’s estate. Some leaders just do not know when to call it quits. Chavez is sick. Nothing to rejoice over. But there must be someone else in Venezuela, in the Party, who could be the leader. Chavez needs to rest. The task of leadership of a country is a daunting one.

In fact chemo treatment helps to retard the growth of or kill cancer cells, but that treatment also aaffects other vital organs, has severe side effects on other organs and the immune system. Though Chavez may wish to continue in Office, but depending on how much the cancer has spread to other parts of the body, the death bell rings ever louder with the passing of each day.

For years, not even a vice president had been appointed by Chavez. I mean man come on. No amount of money, assets, Power could prevent BAZIL from striking. If those with Power, money, oil, diamonds, gold, land etc. could prevent death, what would happen to poor people? The severity of the cancer has signalled to Chavez that it is time to throw in the towel. He is fighting it hard. However, it is Time to allow someone else to carry on with the job, Mr. Chavez. The psychological, physical, emotional stresses might be just too much to cope with.

The people of Venezuela have been helping Dominica for a long time, since before Chavez came to power. Dominica has a huge debt owing Venezuela. Dominicans owe Petro Caribe millions. Petro Caribe operations here has not brought down the cost of fuel or electricity, as we were fooled to believe. Thanks to the people of Venezuela for their assistance. Chavez you have pleyed your part, it’s time to throw in the towel. The cancer disease is taking its toll.
