The Commonwealth of Dominica Ontario Association (CDOA) last month donated Canadian $5,000 each to the Grotto Home for the Homeless and CHANCES in Dominica.

The donations were made by the CDOA President Ms. Hetty Lawrence and Dominican’s Trade and Investment Commissioner to Canada, Ms. Frances DelSol.

The funds were raised from radiothon hosted by G98.7FM, Toronto’s leading black-owned radio station and a concert held by the Association at the British Methodist Episcopal Church in Toronto following the Christmas Eve weather trough in 2013.

In presenting the donations, the CDOA president, a social worker herself, expressed her understanding of the needs that agencies like Grotto Home and Chances face on a daily basis. She hoped that the funds would assist with the charities ever growing need for the less fortunate.

She indicated that the CDOA and the community in Canada would continue to work with a common goal of improving the lives, not only of Dominicans in Canada but our brothers and sisters in Dominica as well.

Receiving the funds for Grotto and Chances were Mr. Aisnworth Irish and Mrs. Ava Roach respectively.

Both acknowledged their gratitude for the significant gift, citing it will help improve the lives of both organizations especially during the holiday season.

Floridian diaspora if you have nothing to say just keep your mouth shut. People can wear what ever clothes they want anytime. Everything is not politics.

So it just happened to be coincidentally red when they were donating their small mercies? Same how you say that “people can wear whatever clothes they want anytime,” it’s the same way I can say whatever I want anytime.

I hope that evil woman in Canada who goes by the name “Face the Facts” made some contribution to the CDOA in order to facilitate this donation.

All she does is sit in Canada and spew garbage while she does nothing for Dominica. And is she that asking how they assisting Dominica.

Also the other hypocrite, Elizabeth Xavier in Canada. Hope she made her contribution.

So why do they have to be dressed in red? Are they trying to send out a political statement? Don’t they realize that if their supreme leader had the economy flowing like the River Nile there would be less homeless people hence less of a need for your generous or rather pitiful donations? Next time please wear more neutral colored clothing. Keep in mind that you are representing charity not his majesty.

I think you need to stay in Florida. We don’t need that level of stupidity in Dominica.

like the guy say if you cannot say something good shut to hell up. Dominican should put their money to this cause instead of throwing money away with Linton this is a very good cause.
