National Security Minister Charles Savarin is home after surgery and rehabilitation in Martinique.
He has been recovering well, despite undergoing a very serious procedure, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit said.
Savarin was flown to the La Meynard Hospital on June 15th 2011, where he underwent an emergency operation for a cardiac condition, according to an earlier release from the Prime Minister’s office.
Savarin was previously admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital here, where tests were conducted to determine his illness. He returned to the island last Saturday, and Prime Minister Skerrit describes him as “very alert”.
“The surgery went very well, the rehabilitation process is going on very very nicely,” Skerrit said.
It is not known when Savarin will be back on the job.
