UPDATE: Chavez scoffs at health emergency rumours

Chavez

Venezuela’s President Hugo  Chavez today mocked a U.S. media report that he had been  rushed to a hospital with kidney failure linked to the  socialist leader’s ongoing treatment for cancer.

“I’m fine, here having my first coffee of the day,” a  sprightly sounding Chavez, 57, said in one of his regular,  lengthy dawn telephone calls to state TV.

My grand father was a very wise man, he always told me to never argue with fools, there is no way one can win, just leave them alone to wallow in their stupidity.. He also told me that most fools suffer from a certain kind of d delusion. If they tell you the moon is made of cheese tell them yes I see that.. If they tell you fire is water and water is fire tell them yes you are absolutely right.

Chavez is here mocking the US (or calls it a rumour or a lie)for saying he was rushed to a hospital for kidney failure. However, Chavez DID NOT DENY IT! So it must have been the truth and not a rumour.
On the otherhand, let’s continue to pray that Chavez remains in good health and leaves long especially at a time like this. Dominica was just torn apart from floods that washed the streets of Dominica clean, and the fact that Skerrit has turned against the US and sees Chavez as his little god, then we just cannot afford to lose Chavez

Even comments on the Chavez story you rejecting?

Let me repeat…..and let me add more to what I first said…

    Reject this….

if he eventually dies i wonder if he will rise from the dead and mock reports..

Why all this denial? When the talk came out about his cancer, members of his government denied…

Then we later got confirmation….now he is on theraphy…he admited to taking steroids…to keep appearing to be ok and fine…

now they rush him to hospital on tuesday, he gets treated…and comes on the tv on thursday via telephone saying he is ok..and they lying..

These dictators die with their boots on garcon….

ADMIN: We don’t have someone approving comments full time. If you don’t see you comment right away, why don’t you just wait instead of making a big fuss. SMH

      China exports by main countries

China’s top export market is the European Union. In the year 2007, 250 USD billion worth of exports are exported to EU. Subsequently, USA comes in 2nd with 233 USD billion worth of exports from China. This is followed by Hong Kong having 184 USD billion worth of exports from China. These three countries have formed the major portion of China’s export market; constituting to 54.3% share of China’s total exports. These statistics reflects the considerable weight of China in the exports industry of the above-mentioned countries. Changes in demand and supply conditions would have a significant impact on the economy of EU, USA and Hong Kong and vice versa.

Below is the chart of China top 10 export markets (countries / regions) for the year 2007:

      This trend has not change

Gaddafi gone, Chavez in going, Ophelia washed Dominica away. Things are not looking good. You see people physical development might look good, but it can somethings be destruction in the guise of development. Where there no vision the people perish, and I dare say Dominica is one of the countries with no vision. There entire well being is dependent upon which despot will throw a penny in the begging cup!! WOW!! How visionary. Every crook from every corner of this earth can take this country on a ride to hell.. Just tie a dollar on a string and they will follow you to hell!

While the people of Layou are begging for mercy , and thinking what morons??? And the people cheer! Oh great development!!!

        September 29, 2011

you should use this opportunity to educate instead of exposing yourself. We break each other down when we behave in such onbecoming manner. We as Dominicans need to be respectful of each other’s opinion and comments which we disagree with. It appears we have a case of the blind leading the blind and no one is getting anywhere. In very few circumstances should we use fire to fight fire. Dominicans need to learn that on all sides of the political spectrum. Be the smarter one, while sending someone to educate themself, take the time to learn a new way of dealing with comments that you do not agree with. Your adjectives is not indicative of an educated person. Thumbs down!

Pure Nonsense again from ignorant Dominicans. Even if Chavez passes away tomorrow, we should not forget how Veneuela has contributed to our developments in Dominica, including among other things, sending down a corps of Engineers to work on the upgrading and moderninzing of the Melville Hall International Airport and injecting 10 million dollars into the Airport project, the Simon Bolivar Housing Project, Petro Caribe. It is time we Dominicans stop talking political trash and stop gloating over people’s illnesses.

Mellevile Hall was not an upgrade that was just purely cosmetic work. How much different is the airport now than before? How much has the work done there contributed or will contribute, significantly to our economy? Remember how long it took this cosmetic surgery to be completed and the significant sums spent for the same. Has the work which was done bring our airport anywhere close to international standards? And when I speak international I’m not even referring to something like whats in Barbados or Antigua, I mean even close to St. Kitts or St. Lucia. How long will it be before we will need another round of so-called upgrade? Can we honestly answer any of these questions? Until we can then I guess we don’t understand what development is and we will forever settle for mediocrity

    September 29, 2011

This story originated from a spanish speaking newspaper based in the U.S. with a reputation for spreading western propaganda among the latin community against leaders seen as enemies of the west and are most vocal against western imperialism.

This particular report on Chavez’ health is unconfirmed, so far there has been no official statement or any other form of confirmation to support that story so the anti-Chavez advocates should not yet start chanting victory.

Remember that next year will see general elections in Venezuela and the opposition and their international supporters’ best chance of victory against Chavez is to paint a picture of him as an invalid so expect many more rumors about his deteriorating health.

    • raindrop
      September 29, 2011

i guess he does not have cancer then.

      • Doubting Thomas
        September 29, 2011

He does have cancer but there was no medical emergency on tuesday with regards to kidney failure nor resulting in his being rushed to a medical facility as was reported in the story. I have been following local venezuelan news, he himself has denied these as rumors according to him he is continuing treatment after chemotherapy and recuperating from the effects of the chemo but the reports of kidney failure on tuesday are false.

    • Doubting Thomas
      September 29, 2011

Before being branded as communist, socialist, leftist or any other ‘ist’ let me state that; my opinions are not based on any particular political bias, i try to follow as much as possible through the media, international politics and other current international affairs. My independent and personal opinions are based on my own analysis of reports and articles from multiple sources. From personal experience i have noted that there are normally inaccuracies in the first reports put before the public, on any particular situation. It is also unwise for one to make a judgement based on information coming from a single source (some news agencies are tainted).

I was neither denying nor confirming anything on the state of Chavez’ health i was simply pointing out that what is reported in the story presented here may not necessarily be accurate given it’s origin. This is the very same story put out last night by the Reuters news agency and which according to them, they received from the ‘spanish language news source based in the U.S.’ of which i made previous mention. So in essence this story comes from a single source and one which as i also previously mentioned has a tendency to spread western propaganda. So to reiterate, it would be unwise to make a judgement or chant victory over Chavez based on what is presented in that one particular story.

FYI: local venezuelan media has reported from Chavez himself that the story is untrue.

Nonsense!! Chief Minister and then Premier Leblanc did what he could within the circumstances.Foreign affairs was handled by the UK. There wasn’t much Premier John could do either besides taking us to political independence. His reign as PM was short-lived but he made it possible for PM Skerrit to enjoy the fruits of his labour (pon intended).

Remember, also that Skerrit, as a member of the Young Freedom Movement, opposed independence for Dominica. Without independence we could not have relations with Cuba, Venezuela, China. We could not have bilateral relations with the USA and Canada. Everything was done with the blessing and watchful eye of the British who were still represented by a Governor.
