    just a thought,
that’s a good point, but the government always think they know how to best redistribute that money, and that is not the case at all. The individual knows how best to use his money, so just reduce the tax burden, and the individual will have the opportunity use his money more effectively.

i agree.. that vat is killing the people. Taxing people then giving handouts is like giving them their money back.

I think this is good idea, human nature is rush an try to correct problems without understanding the root cause of the problem. I have been out of Dominica for the last 10 years and upon my return 3 years ago I saw one major problem that will help increase the poverty level in the DA, that is the relince on imported food, it seems like most folks I knew from the country side had a back yard garden but even vegetables was difficult to find when I was there, which indicates less participation in home farms. The PM is taking the right steps, understand the root cause and put systems in place to correct it.

    I have an idea:
Take the money that you are going to use to conduct this “Survey” and use it to reduce the tax burden on the citizens. Reduce the size of government!!

Standard of living will improve almost instantly.
