DFP pleased Dominica spared ravages of Irma; sympathizes with affected islands

Effects of Irma in St. Martin

The Dominica Freedom Party (DFP) is pleased that we in Dominica were spared the catastrophic ravages of Hurricane Irma.

We wish to thank the Meteorological officials, the office of disaster management and Mr. Cecil Shillingford, Disaster Risk Consultant for their professional handling of the situation

The DFP also commends highly public officials, shelter managers and all volunteers who played an active part in preparation for the storm as well as the people of Dominica for heeding the call.

The DFP wishes to caution citizens of Dominica to continue paying close attention to the advisories and to protect themselves, family and property since we are still in the Hurricane season.

The Dominica Freedom Party sympathizes with and urges prayers and support for our neighboring Islands up north, directly affected during the passage of Hurricane Irma.

“We wish to thank the Meteorological officials, the office of disaster management and Mr. Cecil Shillingford, Disaster Risk Consultant for their professional handling of the situation.”

You people are so bloody ignorant; it is a shame to read such nonsense! You are pleased that Dominica was spared. Who the hell did the DFP consulted and asks them to spear Dominica. Politics has its place in life; nevertheless, this crap about Cecil Shillingford, I do not understand.

Is Cecil Shillingford God? Is he a god? Only a fool would politicize the weather over which, the idiot who submitted that bit of garbage has no control. I suppose talking such nonsense they believe based on that rubbish, they earn the Dominican votes to propel them into power!

Dominica is truly a fools paradise!

When it happens, you all blame God: Yea, God is talking to Dominicans; but instead of thanking and parsing God that we escape this time, we are pleased giving glory metrological officials because…

I don’t understand why opposition parties have to send separate messages to other countries. The government speaks on behalf of ALL Dominicans so it should be sufficient that the government of Dominica sent messages of comfort and support to our neighbours. Do the opposition parties believe that it was the DLP that sent a message? No! It was the GOVERNMENT. Mr. Vital said that he wants less partisanship in the island. Well, start by setting the example and recognize that the government speaks on behalf of ALL Dominicans. I suppose that the UWP is going to follow suite? Ridiculous!

I agree with you. They must respect the PM’s position. They are acting as if they are in power. They should take a back step. They must be sensible enough to also allow the PM to be first to send his message on behalf of all Dominicans which includes them. Therefore, it is not necessary that they send another message and on behalf of Dominicans.
