The Dominica National Council of Women (DNCW) is requesting supplies specific to the needs of women and children in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Erika.
A DNCW press release said particular emphasis will be placed on the needs of the growing number of displaced women and children around the island. The organization said it has activated its community groups so that relevant data can be collected with a view to addressing immediate needs.
Persons can contribute clothing, diapers (infant and adult), sanitary napkins, food supplies and other related items
DNCW can be contacted via Facebook or via email address [email protected].
Persons can also call (767) 448-3935 or (767) 448-7546 or visit the DNCW webpage at www.dominicawomen.com.
If you set up a charity, then you can benefit whomever you want. If women have set up a charity for other women – then good for them! I can’t believe all these comments saying “what about the men?”.
Personally, I have just gone through my wardrobe, and removed two huge bags of good clothing and bedding, and I am very pleased to find out where I can donate it.
I am pleased to see action and not just words. If there is need of a charity for men, then perhaps one of the men can start one?
Stop being daft people. Women and babies have extra needs. Men are lucky that they don’t have to buy sanitary napkins every month. You think this is a burden that women enjoy? And babies cannot clean up after themselves, thus the need for wipes and diapers. Men can just go in the bush and be fine.
Where is the PM’s wife with her care packages when we really want them? Last election season she was distributing those care packages for women. Just where is she now I wonder
No time to introduce sexism…now is time for nation building
Wow !!! does this mean that all the mean are all right?
Did you mean “men?”
Haven’t heard anything from the National Council of Men So speak up men and stop hiding behind!
Do not worry. All the men in need will be helped.
Mr. Joe in this time of need there is NO room for negativity.
The Dominica National Council of Women (DNCW) concentrates on issues conerning WOMEN. That is their job as members of this council. So if they see that women and children need specific supplies, they must address this issue.
The national Council for men ( if there is one) can also give a call for assisstance with relation to specific male issues IF they see it necessary.
Either way BOTH males and females on the islabnd who are in need are being given priority. So you need to relax and join the struggle to help ALL in need.
DNCW EVERYBODY NEEDS ASSISTANCE!!!!!!!!! Men are displaced as well so stop this discrimination…..
TRUE SAY MY BRO.
